The Room was very clean, and above all, the staff were kind and courteous at check-in, which made our stay truly pleasant. We probably caused quite a bit of trouble—almost like fans—but they still saw us off with “Have a great time,” and we would love to stay again.

The building is probably old, but the Room seemed to have been renovated and was very clean and comfortable, including the unit bath and toilet. There were also two single sofas, making it a relaxing space. Breakfast was delicious, just as other Reviews said.

We stayed with three couples we know. The Room was spacious and clean, earning high marks. The bath was a proper Onsen. Because of the rain, the outdoor bath temperature was a little lukewarm, but once you soak in it, you warm up nicely. The sound of the clear stream in front was soothing, and it felt like being surrounded by negative ions. At dinner, the appetizer course in particular was delicious—delicate and enjoyable with a variety of flavors. It alone pairs well with plenty of drinks. The meal portions were very generous, and we couldn’t finish the final rice dish. I recommend arriving hungry. Breakfast rice was also delicious and very satisfying. The staff were attentive and greeted us with warm smiles. The Accommodation isn’t large, but it offers great hospitality and tasty meals, so I think it’s excellent value for money. Since it’s right by the river, we felt it’s an Accommodation where you can relax while listening to the clear stream. It’s an Accommodation I would recommend to other friends as well. We’d love to visit again.

I’m so glad I was lucky enough to get a Reservation at the Accommodation I’d been hoping to stay at when visiting Shodoshima! Thank you for emailing me in advance to confirm that my stay date fell on your Children’s Day, and for your very attentive support even before we arrived. The meals were excellent—we enjoyed plenty of Shodoshima’s local vegetables and fish, and we were completely satisfied. Thank you as well for the careful explanations of each dish and for adding a final message. The Onsen was private and wonderful. It was a shame that our timing didn’t work out, and in the end we couldn’t use one of them no matter when we checked… I also really appreciated the free drink service. We were too full to try the homemade fruit drinks or alcohol, so next time I’d like to come with more time (and room in my stomach), haha. Breakfast was delicious too—I finished everything! It was fun chatting about wanting to go to live shows, haha. I hope you enjoy your private time as well, so you can do even more wonderful work. One small thing: I wish the blind on the Room bathroom window could be adjusted. It felt like it might be visible from outside… haha Other than that, it was an incredibly relaxing space—perfect. Shodoshima is such a wonderful place. I’ll be back!

Thank you for your hospitality the other day. When I told you I can’t eat raw fish, thank you for preparing alternative dishes. The food looked great and tasted wonderful, and we also enjoyed the complimentary extra dish. The bath warmed me up so well that I stayed warm for a long time afterward. The detox water after the bath was also delicious. It was great to be offered a draft beer as a welcome drink at check-in—it was the perfect refreshing drink after a long drive. I would love to stay with you again.

Both the hospitality and the cuisine were calm and wonderful, and I was truly able to refresh. I will visit again.

After the typhoon, I wondered what would happen, but they seem to have live fish tanks, and that really helps them secure ingredients. Even for one person, you get a luxurious sashimi platter of delicious, very fresh fish. Dishes like tokobushi (small abalone) grilled on a ceramic plate and simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) make it feel like a high-end Ryokan. And that’s not all—there are also Western-style dishes using fish, so you never get bored. There are plenty of places that focus on Japanese-style seafood, but it’s rare to find an Accommodation that serves fish prepared in such a wide variety of ways. That said, don’t forget the base is still a minshuku (family-run guesthouse). In the morning, no matter how long you wait, no one comes out—so please help yourself. If it’s your first time, this style can be surprising. But because of that, the value for money is outstanding. Very satisfied.

We stayed as a family of three. The Onsen was wonderful—smooth and silky, a truly great Onsen. The meals were also excellent. We chose the course with sukiyaki. Everything—sukiyaki, sashimi, tempura, miso-grilled chicken, and more—was carefully prepared and delicious. Breakfast was served in a different dining area filled with morning sunlight, and it was just as tasty. The building was very clean, the Room was spacious and spotless, hot water and cold water were provided, and the futon was very comfortable. Everyone at the Accommodation was kind and attentive, so we had a great time. It’s an Accommodation we would definitely like to stay at again.

The well-maintained shared dog run was great. Our dog looked so happy, and we used it many times. The Seika kaiseki dinner was delicious in every way—each dish was thoughtfully prepared, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. Most impressive was the quality of the breakfast—it’s exceptionally high. There are many items, and you can really tell how carefully each one is made. The simmered beef tendon and chikuzen-ni were especially tasty, with excellent ingredients and refined seasoning. The gently warm homemade tofu and the chef’s live-cooked steak were also wonderful. The staff were very attentive as well, making this an Accommodation we look forward to visiting again in a different season.

On my previous trip I stayed here with friends, but this time I had the pleasure of staying with my elderly mother to celebrate her 88th birthday. Because she has difficulty walking, I was a little worried about accessibility, but you kindly assisted us in every situation and we were able to stay comfortably. Although it rained unfortunately, we were able to relax and talk in our Room, and also enjoy a pottery painting experience, making it a truly happy time. The meals were also very delicious. Not only the Akaushi beef and fish, but the Yamato vegetables were wonderful as well. We could also feel the scenery of Nara through the tableware, and the seasonal hydrangeas painted on it delighted us visually too. On our way to the dining area, we found a large snail. Seeing my mother smile happily like a child left a strong impression on me, and it made me realize again that choosing Ubusuna no Sato for this trip was the right decision. Thank you very much for giving us such a happy time. I’m already looking forward to receiving the plate we painted.

A delicious seasonal full-course meal, even for solo travelers. A luxurious stay with only one group per day. And it’s reasonably priced. The Onsen was free-flowing and felt wonderful. An 11:00 AM checkout was also a welcome bonus. I regretted not booking a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much.

I have my family home in Onagawa, and when traveling to and from my hometown, I used to pass by the road next to this Hotel. This was my first time staying here, and the views from the Room and the bath were wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast used plenty of local ingredients and were very delicious. I’ll have another chance to visit my hometown, so I’d like to stay again.

Although it was hot outside in summer, the Hotel Room felt fresh and comfortable. With a semi-open-air Onsen bath, we relaxed and toasted as a couple while looking out at the deep-blue sea with a cold canned beer in hand—it made us feel truly happy. We enjoyed the Onsen many times until around 10:30 a.m. the next morning. Since we are both over 60, we were able to stay at a discounted rate. For dinner, we went to the neighboring seafood market “Mushigamaya,” which is also highly recommended. The Hotel breakfast can be delivered to your Room; it was delicious and my wife was very pleased. We would like to stay again.

The Facility is not new, but it is well cleaned and I am satisfied. It’s not a complaint, but the dinner portions were too large... Personally, if you are using locally sourced ingredients, I feel you should promote that more actively.

I stayed here during Golden Week, and the moment I stepped onto the grounds, I felt, “This is a wonderful Accommodation.” Perhaps it’s because the proprietress pays close attention to every detail. It’s a truly pleasant place to stay. Because there are only a few guest parties, the staff is also small in number, but they provided attentive service. Needless to say, the food was outstanding. I wasn’t traveling specifically for branded wagyu; I’m the type who prefers to carefully choose and enjoy truly delicious food. Still, it’s rare to find an Accommodation where you can enjoy such a wide variety of cuts prepared in the best possible way for each one. As expected from Oki of Yonezawa beef. The Onsen is relatively small, but since there are few guests, I was able to have it all to myself whenever I went—and the water is excellent. Thank you for such wonderful memories.

You can really feel the dignity of a long-established Ryokan. It had the distinguished atmosphere of an Accommodation that hosts the Kisei title match. After arrival, my companion was delighted with the welcome beer (or soft drink). We used the complimentary beer voucher during our stay after bathing and enjoyed a delicious post-bath beer. Dinner was served in our Room, so we could relax and take our time. I had breakfast in the dining area, though it seems in-room breakfast is also available. I say that because a staff member mistakenly came to deliver breakfast to our Room (an error). Both dinner and breakfast were enjoyable, making great use of local ingredients. Breakfast in particular was simple but delicious. At checkout, the staff apologized for the breakfast mix-up, and the proprietress also offered her apologies. That kind of thoughtfulness felt like true Japanese Ryokan hospitality.

It was a quiet, relaxing, and stylish Accommodation. From the Setagaya-Daita ticket gate, the lush green path felt like arriving at a sightseeing spot you wouldn’t expect to find in the city center—it was wonderful. The late-night ochazuke and breakfast were both delicious, the Room was spotless, and I slept soundly—an amazing staycation. I worried the bath might be crowded if there were day-use guests, but it wasn’t at all; both at night and in the morning I had it all to myself, which was great. It was very clean as well. There is no cleansing oil or face wash in the bath area, so be sure to bring your own from your Room. I couldn’t make it to the tea lounge or bar because I was already full, but everything looked delicious. My child happened to be quiet so it was fine, but since this is a calm Accommodation, energetic kids might stand out. I didn’t see many families with children. Also, there are shoji screens in the Room, so if you have a child who might tear them you may feel on edge during your stay. At meals they provided a child’s chair and cutlery for us, which was extremely helpful. Going far for an Onsen can be tough, but here you can relax and enjoy an Onsen and great food with satisfaction comparable to an Onsen resort—right in central Tokyo—so I highly recommend it!

This was our fourth trip with our Toy Poodle, Fukumaru! We didn’t want to leave him alone in the Room, so it was very helpful that we could bring him to the dining area. As a pet-friendly property, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay, and we were very satisfied. We’d love to visit again someday.

We stayed here as a family. Inami is known as a mecca for traditional woodcarving artisans, and this Accommodation—renovated from an old kimono shop—perfectly matches the unique atmosphere of the town. Only one group per day. As others have commented, the Room, garden, and bath were all truly impeccable. What stood out most was the chef, who also served as our concierge. He was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us so much about the ingredients, the town’s history, and more. I was deeply moved by how learning about the cuisine and ingredients while dining made the meal even more extraordinary—it reminded me that food is also an encounter in itself. Thank you very much. Hearing about their experience after the Noto earthquake was heartbreaking, but we could also feel how people in Hokuriku are moving forward with determination. We would love to stay again.

Last year, when our whole family gathered for a homecoming, we stayed here and had a wonderful experience. The meals and the Facility were excellent, and above all, the warm hospitality from the proprietress and all the staff was outstanding. We were able to spend truly memorable time with my elderly mother and uncle, our dog, and the children. We stayed in two types of Rooms: two family groups in pet-friendly Rooms, and my mother’s group in a Japanese-style Room with an open-air bath. Both Rooms were spotless, well stocked with amenities, and very comfortable. For dinner, we enjoyed Saga beef at a relaxed pace with in-room dining. The Onsen was also incredibly soothing—soft water typical of Furu-yu, pleasantly lukewarm at body temperature—along with a sauna with great views. We used to enjoy trying different places each year, but everyone agreed to return to Suginoya again this year. We would love to come back again next year as well.
