When we arrived at the bus stop, Mr. Kuboji was there to pick us up by car. We hadn’t requested it, but since it was raining, his thoughtfulness made us very happy. The Room was spacious, and although three of us stayed, we were able to relax comfortably. The meals were delicious, and we had a wonderful time. The warm, home-like atmosphere was the best.

My first trip to Oki Islands. The weather was perfectly clear that day, and the sea was sparkling. From the Room, the ocean stretched out right before my eyes, and the early-morning view—before the morning light fully reached—felt truly magical. Both dinner and breakfast were carefully prepared, bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients, and everything was delicious. My child was amazed at how good Oki rock oysters were, saying they are the best in Japan. The grilled fish at breakfast was also outstanding. Thank you as well for kindly accommodating my request regarding foods I cannot eat. If it weren’t for a small bug in the Room—and if the bath were an Onsen—it would be a perfect Accommodation. I was also happy to receive such warm and wonderful words from the male staff member I spoke with at check-out. A once-in-a-lifetime encounter—a truly lovely meeting. Thank you very much for taking care of us. Please take care of yourselves during this extremely hot summer following this intense heatwave.

This trip was partly to revisit Toyama, where I lived for about six months during my first year as a new employee some 30 years ago, and I was truly comforted by this Ryokan’s subtle yet warm hospitality. *My single-person dorm was in Toyama City, and I remember going to Aeon in Takaoka (was it Warner Mycal back then?) to watch a movie. The meals were delicious—I finished the entire rice tub (enough for about 2–3 bowls) and ended up drinking two bottles of beer as well. I was initially concerned about the shared refrigerator and planned not to use it when I made the Reservation, but since the system lets you write your Room number on a sticky note, I felt comfortable using it. To give an honest Review: I did wish the bath were a bit larger, but it was very clean and relaxing. It rained the next morning, but the location is excellent—you can stop by Kawanoeki Shinminato, Kaiwomaru Park, and the famous roadside station Amaharashi Coast (Michi-no-Eki), and still easily drop in at Himi Fish Market Cafeteria. To be frank, I expected to stay here simply because it was inexpensive; however, compared with an Accommodation in Fukui where things only looked good on the surface without matching reality (where I stayed the next day), this Ryokan’s strengths stood out even more. In any case, highly recommended.

We stayed here before hiking Mt. Kuromidake on Yakushima. Dinner was delicious and plentiful, so we could get proper nutrition before the hike and felt great the next day. They kindly replaced breakfast with a packed lunch, which was very helpful. The hostess was gentle and comforting, and we also enjoyed watching people SUP on the Abo River outside the window. Attentive service and fresh homemade meals highlighted the difference from the service and buffet dishes at the large tourist Hotel we stayed at the previous night. Even though the Accommodation rates were similar, our satisfaction was about twice as high. It’s not an Onsen, but the bathtub was large and very clean, so I soaked three times. Due to the impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake, bus services to Goishi Coast have been discontinued and access is very difficult; however, the next morning, a gentleman from this Accommodation kindly gave us a special ride via Anadori Iso scenic spot to the nearest Goishi Kaigan-guchi stop. We are truly grateful.

It was a pension chosen for stargazing, but unfortunately, it rained. However, the scenery, the room, and the breakfast were all wonderful. I wished I could have stayed for a few more days. I became close with the owner couple and other guests we talked with, making it really hard to leave. I fell in love with Furano all over again! Definitely coming back next year.

We had a comfortable stay in a warm, homey atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, made with local ingredients. The pork shoulder steak was outstanding. We also enjoyed chatting with the owner and his wife, and had a wonderful time. At night, we could see a sky full of stars, and the location is close to Shibachiku Garden and Rokka no Mori. We’re looking forward to visiting again.

We stayed here again this year, following our visit last year. Last year it was very cold even during the day, perhaps because of the rain, but this year we were blessed with great weather and it was almost hot when we arrived. As the sun set and it was time for dinner, it became wonderfully cool, and the meal was absolutely excellent! After dinner, we stepped outside and looked up at the sky—there were so many stars it felt like they might fall from above, and we even saw a shooting star. It was the best night sky! This is a quiet pension where time seems to slow down and you can truly relax. Thank you very much.

My first time in Minami-Izu—summer vacation at Yumigahama I stayed for two nights at this long-established Accommodation with over 50 years of history, and it turned into the best summer vacation ever. I’m truly grateful. This Accommodation is genuinely wonderful. The quality of the Japanese cuisine, finished by a head chef with an outstanding background, is simply breathtaking—in the best way. Honestly, it’s better than many high-end restaurants! The bath can also be reserved for private use free of charge, which is fantastic. Spacious and spotless, and you can use it anytime 24 hours a day. Above all, what makes this Accommodation truly exceptional is the care, presence, and almost unbelievable hospitality of the staff—led by the proprietress. Everyone is so kind, and it’s incredibly comfortable to be here. It brought back childhood memories of staying at my grandmother’s house during summer vacation… something I naturally remembered again as an adult. There’s something here that no great Hotel or Ryokan can replicate. It’s rare to find an experience where you can relax from the bottom of your heart like this. Next time I’ll visit during the Kawazu cherry blossoms and nanohana season!!

Just as the reviews said, the meals were delicious. There was a great variety of dishes, and everything was satisfying and filling—so much so that we ended up drinking more than planned. The staff were pleasant, and the Accommodation was very clean throughout, which made our stay comfortable. There are two baths with plenty of space. Since it’s a pension-style Accommodation, the walls are thin, so it may not be suitable for guests who are sensitive to noise such as conversations from the next Room. We would have appreciated having one more washer-dryer. This will definitely be an Accommodation we return to.

The front desk service is extremely poor.

The free-flowing natural hot spring water overflowed generously, and it was wonderfully hot and relaxing. It’s located a little away from central Kusatsu, but I’m sensitive to noise, so I was thrilled to sleep soundly in the quiet. They provided Shuttle Service to the town center, so I could enjoy a beer without worrying about driving or parking. The facilities were clean, and the meals were delicious—I was completely full!

The bath with smooth Onsen water was excellent. The food was also very delicious.

My son and I stayed here for a short 2-night, 3-day trip while visiting high schools. We were both deeply impressed by the warm hospitality of the staff! Being a beach lover, my son enjoyed snorkeling every day at the beach right in front of the property and spent every morning practicing his "cool diving moves" at the pool. We look forward to coming back to meet the sea turtles next time. Thank you so much!

Ideal accommodation for a ski trip. Conveniently located near the highway interchange, making it a great base for exploring areas like Myoko, Togakushi, and Madarao. There are no shops around the accommodation, and it may take about 10–15 minutes by car to reach the nearest convenience store or supermarket. Perfect for spending a quiet and relaxing time.

I stayed at this accommodation during a solo ski trip. Accommodations near the slopes during the season often avoid single guests or charge higher rates, but the price here was very reasonable, and the meals were excellent. I personally appreciated that dinner featured hot pot dishes with fewer fried items. The futon was fluffy and clean. This is an accommodation I would love to stay at again.

My friend and I stayed for one night. Our check-in ended up being quite late at 8:30 PM, but the staff were very courteous and helpful. The retro furnishings felt wonderfully nostalgic. They also lent us a basket bag and geta sandals—perfect for visiting the public baths in yukata. It was my first time in Kinosaki Onsen, and I’d love to visit again with my friend. We stayed here during our trip to Hida with our 2-year-old child. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful time. - The ryokan is old but well-cleaned and maintained, offering a charming and atmospheric room. - The private bath can be used freely when available, which is very convenient for families with small children or elderly members. - Dinner was served in the room as part of the plan, allowing us to enjoy it at our own pace. Each dish was carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. - The location is excellent, with attractions like Hida no Sato, museums, and furniture shops nearby—perfect for sightseeing purposes. - Lastly, the owner and staff were incredibly hospitable, making our stay truly pleasant. We would love to stay here again if we visit the area in the future!

Stopped by during a tour to Chausuyama Kogen Road and Horaiji Mountain. Over 30 years ago, the current proprietress's father started this property by renovating their old family home. Nowadays, properties renovated from old houses are not uncommon, but the foresight to start it in that era is impressive. Urugi Village is a great place to spend a relaxing time in a rural setting. The proprietress's proud dishes of game meat and mushrooms, salt-grilled sweetfish, and horse sashimi were very satisfying. The gohei mochi served at the end was also quite filling. There was "Urugi Onsen Komadori no Yu" nearby, so we went there for a bath. Therefore, we did not use the bath at the property. It was a nice property, friendly to riders.
