We chose this place because we wanted to enjoy live Matsuba crab, and it was exactly what we hoped for. The course included a comparison with Seiko crab, and we were very satisfied. They also kindly explained how to eat everything in detail. When we mentioned we couldn’t finish the final rice porridge, they prepared it for breakfast the next morning. Because it was cold outside, we used the private family bath. You fill it yourself, and I liked it so much I went in twice. The water was wonderfully silky and soothing. At checkout, we were happy to receive a souvenir of freshly grilled chikuwa, but above all, we were truly satisfied with the landlady’s fun conversation, warm smile, and heartfelt hospitality.

Since we were using public transportation rather than a car to visit Granpal Illumination, we chose this place because it was within walking distance. We wanted to try the highly rated meals as well, but due to our schedule for the illumination event, it didn’t work out and we had to skip it. If we have the chance, we’d love to stay again. The interior decor was lovely, and the three different baths were great!

I stayed here on a solo trip. My Room had a private indoor bath, but I mainly used the large public bath. It is not very big, but I was always able to use it privately. Above all, the meals were wonderful. The appetizer plate with plenty of vegetables was great, and the beef grilled on a ceramic plate was also quite generous—I was very satisfied. Breakfast was just the right portion size, and I enjoyed every item. I would like to say thank you here as well for carefully sending my forgotten item back to me. I was truly touched. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

Thank you for your hospitality. This is an Accommodation I would love to stay at again. It is located right in front of Lake Shirakaba, and we really enjoyed a quiet early-morning walk by the lake. We came to see the daylilies, but there were plenty of other things to enjoy as well. The owner couple were warm and welcoming, which made us feel at ease. The dinner staff were also efficient and cheerful, making our time even more enjoyable.

I often stay here during ski season. In Kannabe, dinner usually means a variety of hot pots, but here you can choose the proprietress’s chef’s-choice dinner. It’s outstanding—each time I stay the menu changes, and everything is incredibly delicious with generous portions. The price is also reasonable, so there’s nothing to complain about. Also, the hair dryer introduced this year is Panasonic’s top-of-the-line model—so good it brings back shine and softness to your hair. The futons are high quality and clean.

I had an errand in Takachiho and ended up needing to stay one night on short notice, so I stayed at Tenwa. They were very kind and helpful, which really saved me. For the bath, I received a ticket for the nearby Amanoiwato-yu and used it. Breakfast was also great—especially the miso soup and the salmon with tartar sauce. I’m sorry for any trouble we caused when my young child ran around upstairs. If we have the chance again, I’d love to stay here again. Thank you very much.

Conveniently located right near Yunotsu Onsen Motoyu and Yakushiyu, the Room was clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meals. It’s far from where I live, but I would definitely like to visit again if I have the chance. If your schedule allows, be sure to watch the Iwami Kagura held at Ryugozen Shrine.

We stayed as a family of four during the Obon holidays. The Accommodation was very clean and beautiful. The Onsen and the meals were both excellent. We were also able to buy Shizuoka oden that you recommended on our way home, and it was very delicious! It was a warm, comfortable Accommodation. We would love to visit again during the autumn foliage season. Thank you very much.

Not only was the bath wonderful, but it was clear that each dish was carefully prepared. The seasoning was perfect, and everything was delicious. The service was also very friendly.

The meals were even better than I expected from the Reviews, and I could tell they were prepared with great care and time. I reserved a Room on the third floor, but the stairs are steep, so I don’t think I could return unless my legs are still strong enough. Yufuin Onsen seems to have many Accommodations. I highly recommend Hakuunso.

As soon as I entered, the scent of wood filled the air, and I felt even more relaxed inside my Room. The bed did not list a specific manufacturer, but it was far more comfortable than well-known brands like Tempur or Nishikawa that I’ve experienced at other Accommodations. The interior also featured design details that suggested Kengo Kuma’s supervision. The marche on the first floor had a great selection of souvenirs. A friendly female staff member from overseas left a strong impression. Breakfast was abundant with locally sourced ingredients, and I was completely satisfied—just the side dishes alone made me full.

We stayed here after climbing Mt. Akadake. We truly enjoyed the elaborate feast with beer and wine. The next morning, we went to the morning market just a one-minute walk away and ended up buying far more souvenirs than expected. Breakfast was also excellent—delicious bread and a huge salad—so we were completely satisfied! It was the perfect way to recover from the hike. Even after checkout, we had tea at a nearby park and spent a relaxing, enjoyable time. We would love to stay again.

The room had been renovated and was very comfortable. The open-air bath was a good size and very enjoyable. Above all, the quality of the hot spring water was excellent. Dinner felt a bit too plentiful. The yakiniku was charcoal-grilled, but the indoor ventilation wasn’t strong enough, so the room filled with smoke and it was quite difficult; I would have preferred options like grilling in the kitchen or teppanyaki-style cooking on a ceramic plate with solid fuel. I didn’t expect much sashimi in Yufuin, and at my age I’m tired of typical Japanese kaiseki dishes such as chawanmushi and tempura.

They kindly accommodated our last-minute request for a pickup. We enjoyed dinner in a calm private room. The seafood dishes were exceptionally fresh, served with restaurant-quality tableware and presentation. The entire property was spotless, and it was clear that the hostess and staff clean thoroughly without cutting corners. This well-reviewed Accommodation was warm, clean, and great value for money, so I highly recommend it. The cake was delicious as well. It made us want to visit again. Thank you very much.

This was our second stay with a friend’s family. Once again, we were completely satisfied. From the welcome drinks, you were also very considerate of the children. You even prepared the rice cooker we had talked about last year, so we were able to enjoy rice with whitebait in the morning. We look forward to staying again next summer for our third visit.

The property was impeccably maintained throughout, and thanks to the attentive hospitality of the owner and staff, we felt very comfortable and were able to relax completely. And above all—the meals! The full-course dinner menu changed each day and featured luxurious dishes made with fresh ingredients; every course was delicious, and we enjoyed them until we were completely satisfied. For the horseback riding experience, we joined the 90-minute course—crossing grassy fields and wading through a small stream felt like a little adventure. The original Onsen temperature was a bit high, so adjusting it each time was slightly inconvenient, but having both indoor and outdoor baths at this price is amazing. Truly luxurious! I also appreciated the massage chair. I had requested amenities and towels in advance, and they prepared plenty for me, including body lotion, which was very helpful.

The food was also outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed the ingredients from Hirado, and every dish was delicious. It was my first time trying a morning sauna, and I could relax while watching the ever-changing sea view. At checkout, they even prepared drinks for our car ride home. It was my first time experiencing that kind of thoughtfulness, and I was genuinely moved. This Accommodation exceeded my expectations in every way, and I’d love to stay again.
