I booked this pension within walking distance because I had long dreamed of seeing the fresh green metasequoia-lined avenue in the morning and evening. I also used everyone’s Reviews as a reference. Luckily, we were blessed with great weather, and we fully enjoyed the vibrant new greenery along the metasequoia trees and felt refreshed by the clean air. Early in the morning there were hardly any tourists, and our walk became a truly wonderful time. Dinner was delicious from start to finish—from the main Omi beef to the apple sorbet—and we were completely satisfied. The recommended white wine was far better than its price suggested, making the meal even more enjoyable. Breakfast was also outstanding, especially the freshly baked bread and homemade strawberry sauce (jam). Above all, both our room and the large public bath were beautifully maintained and very clean, and in so many moments we felt warmed by the thoughtful hospitality of the owner and family—it became a soothing, heartwarming trip. When we left after check-out, the owner waved goodbye as we drove out of the parking lot, which deeply moved both my husband and me. We would love to visit again in a different season next time. This was a thoroughly satisfying stay in every way. Right after arriving, we were captivated by the beautiful song of Japanese bush warblers. After entering our Room, we enjoyed the large public bath and open-air bath until dinner; the Onsen water was wonderfully clear, odorless, and tasteless with an excellent quality. Dinner featured a wide variety of dishes using many local ingredients—especially the apple gratin, which was surprisingly delicious. After sleeping soundly, we enjoyed morning bathing at four different spots to fully savor the Onsen, and breakfast also offered many options—so tasty that we ate a bit too much. Conversation with the proprietress was delightful, making it a truly enjoyable trip. This Accommodation is highly recommended for those who want to take their time enjoying the baths and meals.

The bath at the Accommodation was quite nice, and we were also able to use the bath at a nearby Hotel, so we were very satisfied.

We stayed here as an Accommodation for sightseeing at Ikuno Silver Mine, choosing it based on Reviews. The carefully prepared meals and the warm hospitality of all the staff were wonderful. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, with impressive single-slab wooden tables lined up, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Even the breakfast bacon was homemade using locally branded pork—pure, simple flavors that let the ingredients shine through. We would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed for two nights. Both breakfast and dinner featured different menus each day, and everything was delicious—we were completely satisfied! Not only were the Room amenities excellent, but we also appreciated the thoughtful touches, like smartphone charging cables (various types) and a lamp in the Room that shows whether the Onsen is available—thank you for such considerate Facilities. It’s wonderful that even though this is a pet-friendly Accommodation, it’s very clean and the Room smells great. It must be a lot to manage with just the two of you, but this is an Accommodation we’d love to return to!

We planned this trip to visit a restaurant that is only open on weekends and public holidays. While looking for a nearby Ryokan, we noticed the radon bath and “Arashi no Yu,” and decided to stay here. We made a Reservation for three adults on the standard course. Dinner was generous, with simmered local fish, grilled dishes, tempura, and more. The simmered flounder was especially delicious with white rice. Breakfast was also classic Japanese—grilled fish, vinegared dishes, kinpira, and more. The white rice paired perfectly with everything. “Arashi no Yu” is different from both a stone spa and a sauna. Lying down on the floor covered with small stones made us sweat heavily; sweat poured out from our pores and left our skin smooth. Unlike a typical stone spa, the pebbles provide comfortable cushioning so you can lie down easily. In the radon bath area, the bathing room and tub are separated so the steam collects around the tub. We kept sweating even while soaking, and even after getting out we stayed warm for a long time. Both “Arashi no Yu” and the radon bath can make you feel very tired at first, but we slept deeply until morning and enjoyed truly restful sleep. Smooth skin, warm body, refreshed awakening—our fatigue melted away. It felt like toxins were released along with the sweat! The proprietress recommended karaoke after dinner; singing on a stage with full sound equipment was great fun. The staff’s thoughtful attention to detail was excellent throughout. This is a Ryokan we would love to stay at again next time. The restaurant we came for was 5 minutes away by car; we were able to get an early number ticket and enjoy lunch without any trouble.

We made a Reservation for this Accommodation as our first trip away with our child just before starting weaning foods. Just as other Reviews said, both dinner and breakfast were very generous, and everything looked and tasted amazing—this alone made us glad we stayed here. The amenities were also very well stocked, and since we mentioned when booking that we had an infant, they prepared not only adult items but also baby lotion and more, which we really appreciated. If there’s one thing to note, we drove to the Accommodation but the route was a bit hard to follow and we got slightly lost before arriving, so it may be helpful to check the directions in advance.

As it’s a new Hotel, everything is spotless. I have lower back pain, but the mattress firmness was perfectly comfortable. The Room key uses a PIN code system, so I recommend taking a photo of the number you receive at check-in on your phone—it will be useful later. At the bar counter there were Black Nikka, Kurokirishima, Nanawarai, and more, so I had a glass of Kurokirishima. I think it’s a good idea to buy cup ice and soda water as well. There didn’t seem to be any restaurants within walking distance; however, there is a drugstore and a supermarket across the street. The only disappointment was that at 6:40 there was an extremely long line for breakfast! We were told we could take it back to the Room to eat, but due to my son’s event we gave up waiting and checked out. That’s why I deducted one star. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

It’s not in the Onsen town, but it’s within walking distance. The food was delicious, and the bath on the top floor was also great. The Facility was clean, and everything was good right through to the final send-off. It made me want to visit Gero Onsen again.

I enjoyed the luxury of just 12 Rooms overlooking the baseball stadium. There wasn’t a game that day, but I fully enjoyed a guided stadium tour with the Fighters Girls, local craft beer, and a sauna and Onsen with an amazing view. In the morning, the sauna and Onsen are exclusively for guests, so it felt almost private—truly luxurious. The in-Room amenities were also impressive: equipped with the latest air purifier, humidifier, and more. It’s hard to get a Reservation, but this is a Hotel I’d love to stay at again if I get the chance.

The meals lived up to their reputation—lavish and absolutely delicious. It was honestly hard to finish everything, but they kindly made rice balls from what was left, and I could enjoy dessert later, which was great. The view from the detached room was amazing, and I could relax in the Onsen while looking out at the sea. The beach is also nearby, so it was a luxury to swim after check-in and then come right back for an Onsen soak. I didn’t run into anyone else at all and was able to truly unwind. I’d love to visit again.

The property was incredibly clean and spacious, making us feel like we could live here permanently. We stayed with 6 adults and 4 children (ages 4, 2, and two infants), and it was more than enough space. The 4-year-old and 2-year-old were thrilled with the large house and bath, while the crawling infants had plenty of room to move around. Amenities for all 10 of us were thoughtfully prepared, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing morning bath. The sauna was also a highlight—3 adults used it at once with plenty of room to spare, making it hard to leave! Although the parking is listed as accommodating three cars, we found it tight for two standard cars and one compact car; unloading luggage was a bit challenging. Despite this minor inconvenience, we would love to make staying here an annual tradition. The owner communicated kindly via phone and messages throughout our stay—thank you so much!

This Accommodation sits at the highest point of Arifuku Onsen in Gotsu City, Shimane Prefecture. I stayed here eight years ago and returned this time. It used to be a historic, retro inn, but after the renovation it has been transformed into a wonderful Onsen Accommodation that beautifully blends tasteful interiors with a nostalgic atmosphere. Dinner was a full-course meal at a nearby Italian restaurant included in the Plan. Despite being stylish, they also provided chopsticks, and every dish was carefully prepared with delicate seasoning—everything was truly delicious. Breakfast was also very good, though I would have liked one more side dish (such as dried fish). The Onsen water has a silky, slightly slippery feel—perhaps that’s why it’s known as “beautifying” water. I’ve visited many hot spring areas, but this texture is quite rare. There is also a glass window in the dining room floor where you can see the source spring. On Saturday nights, it seems you can watch Iwami Kagura at the nearby Kagura hall just steps from the Accommodation. Unfortunately, my stay wasn’t on a Saturday so I couldn’t see it, but next time I’d like to make my Reservation for a Saturday.

We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay, and the meals were completely different each night; both were very elaborate and delicious. Even though it was just the two of us on the second day, we were delighted by the generous dishes and desserts. If I had to mention one thing, since dinner lasts an hour, the wooden chairs—though beautiful—are a bit hard, so having seat cushions would be appreciated.

As soon as I entered, the scent of wood filled the air, and I felt even more relaxed inside my Room. The bed did not list a specific manufacturer, but it was far more comfortable than well-known brands like Tempur or Nishikawa that I’ve experienced at other Accommodations. The interior also featured design details that suggested Kengo Kuma’s supervision. The marche on the first floor had a great selection of souvenirs. A friendly female staff member from overseas left a strong impression. Breakfast was abundant with locally sourced ingredients, and I was completely satisfied—just the side dishes alone made me full.

When visiting Hida Takayama, be sure to stay at Sumiya Hagakure! Enjoy a relaxing and private time with our whole-house rental. The old streets of Takayama are within walking distance, making the location perfect. The breakfast rice balls were also delicious. This is an accommodation you'll definitely want to revisit!

My siblings live in different prefectures, so we used this place as an opportunity for the whole family to get together. There were 12 of us—my sister’s family with two dogs, my brother’s family with children, my spouse and I, my parents, and my grandmother—so we booked two buildings. There was a large long table, and extra chairs were kept in the bedroom, so everyone could sit together in one building and enjoy meals as a group. (There was also a chair for small children.) The space is very spacious, so even when we all gathered it never felt cramped. There’s also a sofa area where everyone could relax however they liked. The warmth of the wood made it feel truly wonderful. We were also very grateful that we could message to arrange check-in this time. It was convenient to pay the Accommodation Tax and pet fee via PayPay using the provided QR code. Even though the kids got very excited and had lots of fun, it’s a private space so we felt comfortable staying there without worry. For bathing, we used the Onsen at a nearby Ryokan within walking distance. The Onsen lovers in our family even went again in the morning. If you bring your own ingredients, everything else is provided—tableware and appliances—so it was incredibly helpful. There was also a rice cooker so we could cook rice easily, which we really appreciated. Inside the Room there was also an iron plate and grill net for yakiniku-style BBQ, which made the meat taste even better. There is also a locked dog run on site, which is great for guests with pets. The price was very reasonable—thank you so much for letting us stay in such a wonderful place. We would love to stay again.

There were chain restaurants nearby, and a theme park was also close by, which made it convenient! The bathroom was clean and spacious, which was great. The Room was also spacious, which was great!
