On Sunday, October 4, 2026, Furano’s autumn celebration event, the “Furano Great Harvest Festival,” will be held.
Launched to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the TV drama From the North Country, the Furano Great Harvest Festival is a special annual event.
The venue is “Hirotte Kita Ie” (The House We Picked Up), also featured as a filming location in From the North Country 2002: Testament. On the day of the event, the Facility will be open to the public free of charge—an opportunity to enjoy Furano’s abundant harvests and experience local culture and charm unique to this area.
With slogans such as “Remember! Goro’s Way of Life” and SDGs, a wide variety of activities are planned—from stage performances to crafts and shopping, plus local restaurants and food trucks.
Stage Events
Enjoy powerful performances by the Furano Yasaka Taiko Preservation Society, music by the Furano Wind Orchestra, a From the North Country quiz competition, and more—fun for all ages.
There will also be a pumpkin weight-guessing contest (Makoto’s Pumpkin) and a loud-voice contest celebrating the 45th anniversary of From the North Country.
Crafts & Shopping Showcasing Furano’s Charm
