(1) From the Joshinetsu Expressway Usui-Karuizawa I.C., take National Route 18 to Naka-Karuizawa Station. (2) From Naka-Karuizawa Station, head north on National Route 146 toward Onioshidashi. (3) Go 2 km north from Naka-Karuizawa Station and continue straight through the “Sengataki-Minami” intersection (Route 146 on your right). (4) Continue for about 10 minutes (6.5 km) from “Sengataki-Minami.” The road becomes a winding uphill with a climbing lane partway along. Pass Karuizawa Town Manzamune. (5) After the climbing lane ends, descend for a while (1.5 km) to a three-way junction at the “Shiraito Falls Entrance” intersection. Take the middle route and bear diagonally right ahead toward Gunma/Kusatsu/Naganohara/Kita-Karuizawa (continue downhill on Route 146). (6) About 5 minutes (4.5 km) after “Shiraito Falls Entrance,” go straight north at the “Asama Farm” intersection (continue downhill on Route 146). (7) About 4 minutes (3 km) after Asama Farm, turn left just north of the Seven-Eleven on your left. (8) After turning left, go 1 km (cross a small stream and pass the “Sweetgrass” sign), then turn diagonally left at the crossroads ahead. (9) After turning left, continue 500 m to a dead-end fork, then take the right-hand road and continue another 300 m.
