Hotel Matsuo began its journey in 1921 as "Matsuo Ryokan" and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2021. Since its founding, we have been fortunate to receive the warm support of the local community and build connections with many guests over the years. Starting as a small wooden two-story ryokan, it served as an officers' accommodation for the former Japanese military during wartime. In the Showa and Heisei eras, it was cherished by notable figures from various fields as well as local patrons. Now in the Reiwa era, even after reaching this milestone of 100 years, we continue to cherish our founding spirit of hospitality, welcoming all guests with unchanging warmth and care.
On the 7th floor, the top floor of our hotel, the restaurant "Miyabi" offers authentic Japanese cuisine crafted by a chef trained at the renowned "Kicho." Using seasonal seafood freshly caught at Hamada Port in the Sea of Japan, we carefully prepare dishes that highlight the natural flavors of each ingredient and reflect the tastes of each season. From inside the restaurant, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Hamada's cityscape. Experience unforgettable moments with breathtaking sunsets that change by the minute and serene night views.
