Shimobe Onsen, embraced by the gentle murmur of the Fujikawa River and the quiet of the mountains. This renowned hot spring—said to have healed Takeda Shingen’s wounds—has long been known as “the healing waters,” and its warmth still lingers in the rising steam today. At MAGMA RESORT Shimobe, guests share the Onsen facilities of the adjacent Shimobe Hotel, drawing generously from three natural sources (simple spring, sulfur spring, and high-temperature spring). The silky-soft water, richly textured sulfur bath, and a cool bath for alternating hot-and-cold soaks gently melt away travel fatigue. Another highlight is enjoying all 12 types of baths scattered throughout the garden—open-air baths, hinoki cypress baths, ceramic baths, cave baths, and more. Each bath has its own character: Morning Mist Bath, Starlight Bath, Wind Bath— nature itself becomes the finest setting in every moment. A soothing time that warms you to your core and relaxes your mind. Beyond the steam lies a stillness that makes you forget time.

Starlight
“Starlight” is an indoor activity field located within MAGMA RESORT Shimobe. In this spacious area—renovated from a former grand banquet hall—you’ll find a giant trampoline over 5 meters in diameter and a variety of physical play equipment, so families can enjoy themselves even on rainy days. Children can stay active to their heart’s content, while parents relax in the adjacent Onsen or lounge—an ideal setting for a family stay. It is also a sustainable space created through renovation that makes use of local resources, where play, learning, and smiles come together. During your stay, be sure to enjoy a fulfilling time by unwinding at Tenku-no-Yu first, then having energetic fun at “Starlight.”
