Men’s and women’s bathing areas are alternated. * Please note that the baths are drained and cleaned daily from 9:00 to 11:30, and are unavailable during this time. * Eating, drinking, and smoking are not permitted in the changing area or bathing area. * The large public bath will be closed for approximately 30 minutes during the switch (around midnight). * You cannot move between the gender-segregated large public baths and the mixed-gender open-air bath. * As the hot spring source temperature is high, cold water is added (10%–15%) only from mid-May to late September for all open-air baths (gender-segregated and mixed-gender). * Outside of this period, the open-air bath of the large public bath uses 100% natural hot spring water only.

* As you will need to go down approximately 40 steps, guests who are concerned about their physical condition are kindly asked to refrain from using this area. Please take extra care with your footing during bad weather and especially in winter. * There is no washing area. Please use the gender-segregated large public bath. * Eating, drinking, and smoking are not permitted in the changing room or bathing area. * Only the changing room is separated by gender. * Swimsuits are permitted. * From 19:00 to 22:00, this bath is for women only. * Daily from 9:00 to 11:30, the water is drained for cleaning and bathing is not available. * You cannot move between the gender-segregated large public baths and the mixed-gender open-air bath. * For both the open-air baths (gender-segregated and mixed-gender), as the source temperature is high, water is added at a rate of 10%–15% only from mid-May to late September. * Outside of the above period, only natural hot spring water (no added water) is used.
