Introduction of the Accommodation

Kumagawa Stays is a post town nestled in the mountains connecting Kyoto and Wakasa. Since ancient times, many travelers have rested here. Yaokumagawa is a traditional Japanese house property located in Kumagawa Stays.

While preserving the charm of the traditional house, which is a cultural property, we have renovated it into a simple space utilizing natural materials, allowing us to live comfortably today. This is a property limited to four groups per day, including a whole house rental room.

Wakasa has long been a Miketsukuni, a region that offered food to the imperial court. Enjoy the blessings of Wakasa at a leisurely pace in a traditional Stays. Savor local dishes prepared by local mothers, and make your own bowl of morning porridge. The experiences here make the meals even more delicious.

As you take a walk, you might suddenly encounter a freshwater crab, the sunset further reddens the red Bengara walls, and you wake up to the sound of falling snow in the morning. The experiences and realizations you gain here are sure to bring subtle changes to your daily life.
