About the start date of the Accommodation Tax in Okinawa Prefecture

*An Accommodation Tax will be added for stays from February 1, 2027.
A flat-rate tax of 2% of the Accommodation Fee (per guest, per night) will be charged.
*Regardless of the payment method (including advance card payment), the Accommodation Tax must be paid on site.
Example: Stay for one night at JPY 8,000 (tax included)
JPY 8,000 excluding tax → JPY 7,272 (before tax)
In accordance with the rules for calculating the Accommodation Tax, amounts below JPY 1,000 are rounded down.
The taxable amount is JPY 7,000.
2% of JPY 7,000 = JPY 140 (Accommodation Tax)
Total: JPY 8,000 accommodation charge + JPY 140 Accommodation Tax to be paid on site
*The Accommodation Tax applies per night for adults, elementary school children, and infants who require bedding.
*For Multiple Night Stay reservations, room cleaning will be provided as eco-cleaning on days other than the designated cleaning day(s).
- Eco-cleaning includes towel replacement and trash collection only. It does not include changing sheets or full room cleaning such as bathroom/kitchen area cleaning.
- Designated cleaning days: standard cleaning is provided approximately once every three nights.
