I was able to stay in a private room at an affordable price. The building isn’t new, but you can enjoy a retro Showa-era vibe. The bath felt like it was all to myself, and it’s close to Yubatake!
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 8/7/2026When it comes to Kusatsu, it has to be Iijimakan.There’s hardly any other option…The building is old, but the Rooms are kept very clean—there isn’t a speck of dust.It’s a traditional Japanese-style Room with a real Showa-era feel, which I love. The location is perfect: Yubatake is just a short walk away, and so is the bus terminal. All the staff are very kind, and I’ve never had an unpleasant experience. Best of all, you can enjoy the rare Watanoyu bath—if it’s available, you can use it privately as many times as you like. Depending on timing, it can be hard to get in (maybe because many guests come specifically for Watanoyu)… but in that case, you can visit one of the public baths or use the other bath fed by the Yubatake hot spring source. After checkout, I also like their hands-off approach—more like “please feel free to do as you like.”
