Rex Inn Namba

The 24-hour drink bar was available, and we could use it even before check-in and after check-out. I usually bring coffee with me, but it was great not having to make it myself. The morning pancakes came with unlimited syrup, and there was whipped cream too—I ended up eating four. The location was also convenient; we visited Dotonbori, Tsutenkaku, and Tsuruhashi.

What I liked:- Individual air conditioning in each Room- Bright, home-style lighting- The 24-hour drink bar was very helpful- Happy to be able to choose the amount/type of bath salts- Two types of pillows were provided from the start, so I could choose depending on my moodI stayed during hot weather, so I chose this place for the individual A/C and the drink bar. When I entered the Room, the air conditioning was already on—such a thoughtful touch.What concerned me:- It feels a bit old; the bathroom is small- Hearing noise from the next Room was an issue- The refrigerator doesn’t cool well- The hair dryer is weak, so it takes time to dry hairWhile in the hallway, I could sometimes hear sounds from inside Rooms (running bath water, hair dryers, etc.). Once inside my Room, it didn’t seem as noticeable.I tested it with my own TV; normal volume seemed fine, but it still made me worry about bothering others.The biggest problem was loud audio—maybe a phone or foreign-language videos—from the neighboring Room. It echoed clearly through the entire hallway and could also be heard through the wall since it was next door. This continued until 2:00 a.m.Since we woke up earlier than them, we could of course hear their alarm as well.It’s best to be mindful of your volume...It was also disappointing that there was a note saying this type of refrigerator doesn’t cool well.Amenities are minimal; there is no lotion or makeup remover.You can feel that the building is older and sound carries at times, but I also felt they make an effort with service to make up for it.I got a good rate, and the staff were smiling and kind—their warm and friendly service was excellent. Seeing Rex the robot wandering around was soothing too.The location is close to Nihonbashi, and Namba is within an easy walking distance if you enjoy browsing shops along the way.I didn’t have any concerns about safety in the surrounding area.If I have another chance, I’d consider staying again.
