Introduction of the Accommodation

A 120-year-old traditional Japanese house
A peaceful morning in a 120-year-old traditional Japanese farmhouse. Surrounded by the gentle warmth of a wood-burning stove, enjoy freshly cooked rice, grilled fish, and homemade side dishes—an unhurried, nostalgic moment that helps you truly unwind. Savor a relaxed countryside breakfast in the dining room beneath impressive old beams.

The Bengala Terrace beside the entrance is a relaxing spot to unwind at check-in or after your satoyama experience. Enjoy unhurried moments while taking in the satoyama scenery—like visiting a relative’s home.

Dinner features an A5-grade Wakasa beef steak as the main dish, accompanied by seasonal cuisine showcasing the blessings of Wakasa’s sea and satoyama countryside. We carefully serve local fish, seasonal vegetables, and clay-pot rice made with our homegrown rice. Please savor your meal at a relaxed pace while enjoying the unhurried rhythm of satoyama life.

Fresh spring greenery, summer rice fields, autumn harvests, and a quiet satoyama in winter. Enjoy the ever-changing countryside through the seasons at a leisurely pace as you stroll. If you wish, the host of Koharu will guide you to seasonal highlights and share the traditional satoyama way of life passed down in the area.

One of Koharu’s unique charms is the satoyama experiences you can enjoy in every season. From spring cherry blossom walks and wild vegetable foraging, to summer firefly viewing and plum picking, autumn fruit picking, and winter yuzu harvesting and playing in the snow—each season offers special moments to enrich your trip memories. During your stay, please relax and enjoy unhurried time while experiencing satoyama life and the beauty of nature. For guests staying two nights or more, the host can drive you to nearby highlights upon request.
