Stay Inn Hotel Kamiyama

I stayed here on a business trip. It happened to be during the Hanagasa Festival, and I couldn’t book a Hotel in Yamagata City, so I chose this place—and it turned out to be an excellent decision!The Room was new and very clean, with the feel of a simple Business Hotel. Personally, I was a little disappointed that the floor was wood rather than carpet, but housekeeping was thorough and I had a comfortable stay.There is no bath in the Room, but there are three large public baths, each with an open-air bath and even a sauna—more than satisfying.The lobby offers free coffee, and I also appreciated the local wine and sake dispensers available for 500 yen per glass.Since I traveled by train, it took just under 15 minutes on foot from the station, and the limited number of trains made access slightly inconvenient. However, that was far outweighed by the excellent baths, the cleanliness of the Room, and above all the kind and pleasant service from all staff members.I would definitely like to stay here again.

I stayed one night on a business trip to Yamagata.- Room & amenities: 5 Yukata, toothbrushes, etc. are available next to the front desk for self-service. This is more than enough for a budget business stay.- Staff & service: 5 The front desk staff were friendly and efficient.- Onsen / bath: 4 There are three baths, with separate hours for men and women that switch between daytime and nighttime. The open-air bath and sauna were very relaxing. One point off because bathing hours are limited (until 11:00 p.m., and from 6:00 a.m. in the morning).- Facility & equipment: 4 The building was clean, possibly recently renovated. One point off because it feels a bit like a maze with lots of stairs.- Meals: 4 At breakfast, side dishes were set in advance at assigned seats marked by room number, while drinks, rice, soup, etc. were self-service. The hearty miso soup and white rice were delicious. I also appreciated being able to take coffee to go in a paper cup.- Overall satisfaction: 5 Even on a weekday, getting breakfast included at this price was excellent value. I’d like to stay at this Accommodation again on my next business trip to Yamagata.
