Machiya Guesthouse Miwa

A small guesthouse nestled at the foot of Omiwa Shrine, offering a relaxing moment surrounded by the warmth of wood.

Twelve years ago, we opened a guesthouse renovated from a traditional townhouse at the foot of Ōmiwa Shrine (Japan's oldest shrine) in Miwa, Sakurai City, located in the central part of Nara Prefecture. It is a small Property with only four rooms, but we strive to provide hospitality that makes visitors want to return. We take pride in offering meals with a focus on cypress baths and high-quality water, which have been well-received by our guests. Recently, some have mentioned stories about Zashiki-warashi and such. One of the charms of our Property is the conversations between the owner and guests. Regardless of age, lively conversations can be enjoyed, making your journey even more fulfilling.
