Simply soak in the hot spring and gaze at the sky. That alone will leave you feeling fulfilled—this is an Accommodation for exactly that. Welcome to Hotarakashi no Yado. Enjoy it in your own way. “Takaogen-sen,” a natural hot spring rising in Nasu’s quiet forest, is a sulfur spring known for its skin-beautifying qualities. It warms you from the core, leaving your skin soft and radiant after your bath. Surrounded by tranquility, enjoy a luxurious moment as both mind and skin gently unwind.

The purpose of your trip is to enjoy a sulfur hot spring.
This property seems best suited for guests who like sulfur Onsen.As other Reviews mention, it is not a Manza-class sulfur Onsen.It feels like the sulfur Onsen has been diluted with water.There are designated hours for using the Onsen.Normally, it is available from 1:00 PM,but on Tuesdays and Wednesdays it is available from 3:00 PM.Since check-in is at 3:00 PM, only guests on a Multiple Night Stay can use it from 1:00 PM.Swimwear is required in the mixed-gender open-air bath. (This time, we bought it at the shop inside the Facility.)If you don’t have swimwear, you can rent it by paying a rental fee (500 yen).As for meals, we did not purchase meals at the Facility and instead ate at a convenience store 6 km away.From a cost-performance perspective, I recommend it.

It was not “hands-of...
It was not “hands-off” at all. All the front desk staff were kind and courteous, and their service was excellent—we’re very grateful. The entire property was well cleaned, which was different from what the name made us imagine. The Onsen was also clean, and we liked both the water quality and the temperature. However, perhaps because it’s reasonably priced, there were a few guests who parked in accessible spaces without hesitation and left used toothbrushes, razors, wash basins, etc., in the bath area—some behavior that felt lacking in manners. We would love to visit again.

“Takao Gensen,” rising in the quiet forests of Nasu, is a sulfur Onsen renowned for its skin-beautifying properties. It warms you to the core, leaving your skin soft and radiant after your bath. Surrounded by tranquility, enjoy a luxurious moment as both mind and skin gently unwind. * Large public bath & open-air bath: natural hot spring (circulated and filtered) * Sky open-air pool (large open-air bath): free-flowing from the source After your bath, take a break in the post-bath lounge—relax on cushions or in a hammock.

Meals

We do not have a restaurant, but our Hotel values “freedom of dining.” Enjoy Nasu’s rich food culture by dining out, or bring back local specialties and savor them at your leisure in your Room—choose the style that suits you best. Inside the Hotel, we sell authentic frozen bento meals (6 varieties: Japanese, Western, and Chinese), supervised by the Executive Chef of Hotel Epinard Nasu, 24 hours a day. We also offer other frozen items, canned foods, and ready-to-eat meals. A microwave is available as well, so you can easily enjoy a hot meal anytime.
