Hotel Marshland

I stayed in the old wing for a four-night motorcycle touring trip. The small Japanese-style Room (about 4.5 tatami mats) was more than enough for one person, and with a fan and the window open, it was comfortable even on hot summer nights. There was also a gas fan heater that I could use to dry wet rain gear, and the double-glazed windows made it feel like it would stay warm even in winter. The mattress had just the right firmness, and with the down comforter, I personally slept better than on the typical beds in many Hotel rooms.Free-to-use washing machines and dryers (detergent included) are available in the basement of the main building. Breakfast was delicious, and there was a morning newspaper in the dining room that I could take back to my Room—handy for reading and for drying wet shoes. Above all, since the Accommodation Fee is low, I highly recommend this place if you don’t mind having no private bath or toilet in your Room.

I made a Reservation knowing the Room would be extremely small in exchange for a lower rate, but they provided a standard Room instead. Also, while it may not be particularly refined, they offer complimentary welcome coffee, late-night ochazuke, and a breakfast buffet, so as long as you don’t expect too much, you won’t have any trouble with food and drinks.
