A soothing retreat for the soul, the Tokiwakan Hotel in Shiobara Onsen offers 20 stylish yet traditional Ryokan-style Rooms. Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Property features a large public bath and open-air Onsen, rich in metasilicic acid, known for its skin-beautifying properties. The Onsen is a natural free-flowing hot spring with no added water, no heating, and no circulation, offering a smooth sodium-calcium chloride bicarbonate spring that leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated. Guests can also enjoy dishes made with locally sourced ingredients at our dining restaurant.
We stayed as a family for one night with the breakfast-included Plan. The woman at the front desk was very courteous and helpful.The private bath at night was wonderful. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast. It was great value for the price, and we were very satisfied. We would like to visit again.

The large public bath and open-air Onsen at our Hotel contain metasilicic acid, a natural moisturizing and skin-beautifying component. Metasilicic acid is often included in moisturizing lotions and bath additives, as it is believed to help improve the skin's ceramide balance. Generally, water with over 50mg of metasilicic acid is considered "beauty-enhancing," but the Onsen at Tokiwa Hotel contains an impressive 207.6mg of metasilicic acid.
