Smooth your skin at Emerald Onsen, savor Niigata's local ingredients, and enjoy 24-hour access to the Onsen.

40 minutes by car from Niigata Station, enjoy the beautiful emerald green waters of Tsukioka Onsen. Known for its high sulfur content, one of the best in Japan, the Onsen leaves your skin silky smooth, and you can enjoy 100% natural hot spring baths 24 hours a day. The suite Japanese-style room on the top floor of the main building features an ancient cypress bath, while the deluxe Japanese-style rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors are conveniently located near the large communal baths and dining areas, making them highly popular. Meals are prepared with the finest ingredients from Niigata's bountiful nature. For breakfast, we serve Niigata-grown Koshihikari rice, and for dinner, we use Niigata's new premium rice brand, "Shinnosuke." Enjoy comparing the delicious rice varieties born in Niigata.

  • This was my fifth visit to Tsukioka Onsen. It was my first stay at Akebono, but Tsukioka Onsen has excellent water quality, and Akebono’s baths were great as well. Since I stayed on the last day of a three-day weekend, it was quiet, and I could enjoy the spacious baths at a relaxed pace. The dinner looked like it would be neither too much nor too little in the photos at the time of Reservation, but in reality it was quite generous and left me very full. Everything was delicious. For breakfast, the side dishes felt like they were meant to go with rice, but they were also tasty—I even had seconds. The rice itself was excellent too, just as you’d expect from Niigata, famous for its rice.

  • Tsukioka Onsen is a charming Onsen town with stylish shops and beautifully illuminated areas at night. The Onsen at the Accommodation is not too hot, and the water feels silky—truly a “beauty bath”! The food was not overly seasoned, and we enjoyed it together with local sake. We would love to visit again!

Blessings of the Sea of Japan - Fresh seasonal fish

Niigata is renowned for its abundant seafood. We serve fresh fish caught in the Sea of Japan every morning on the same day. In spring, enjoy flounder and amberjack; in summer, sea urchin and rock oysters; in autumn, stonefish, blackthroat seaperch, and mantis shrimp; and in winter, snow crab and cold yellowtail, all freshly caught and seasonal.
