Rising steam in a quiet mountain valley. Here lies a true hidden gem, offering nothing but a natural setting and a source-fed Onsen. Enjoy the charm of our traditional bathhouse and indulge in the milky white mud bath. The name "Mud Bath" is said to originate from the cloudy appearance of the water. Long ago, a maiden suffering from illness was too embarrassed to bathe in the clear water. A tengu (a mythical creature) appeared and transformed the water into a milky white bath. The maiden joyfully bathed in it, and her illness was cured. Since then, the Mud Bath has remained cloudy white, as the story goes.
