Tsukubasan Keisei Hotel

Ibaraki Prefecture/Tsukuba

Enjoy breathtaking views and nightscapes, savor creative Japanese cuisine, and relax in skin-beautifying hot springs.

Tsukuba Keisei Hotel on Mount Tsukuba offers breathtaking views and nightscapes of the Kanto Plain. From the open-air Onsen, enjoy stunning vistas, with three types of baths: indoor, open-air, and herbal. Rooms accommodating up to four guests provide views of Kashimanada, the city center with Sky Tree, the Hakone Tanzawa mountain range, and Mount Fuji, showcasing the dynamic scenery of the Kanto Plain. The hot spring water from Tsukuba Onsen's source, "Sōjin no Yu," is renowned for its skin-beautifying properties. Guests can also savor creative Japanese cuisine made with local ingredients.

  • I stayed here for a Mt. Tsukuba hike. I really appreciated being able to pick up the ropeway discount tickets even before check-in. The Onsen after the hike was incredibly soothing. The bath area has been beautifully renovated, and the amenities (POLA) were excellent. The view of the Kanto Plain from the Room is stunning, and the night scenery is beautiful as well. When I woke up in the morning, everything was pure white—I enjoyed a morning bath surrounded by clouds and a delicious Japanese breakfast. It wasn’t clearly stated, but free drinks like coffee and apple juice were available, which was a pleasant surprise. Both the restaurant staff and front desk staff were very courteous and left a great impression. I’ll definitely stay again.

  • It takes about 50 minutes from TX Tsukuba Station by the Mt. Tsukuba shuttle bus.We arrived around 2:45 p.m., and several guests were waiting to check in in the Hotel lobby.Check-in started about 10 minutes later, and we appreciated being allowed to check in before 3:00 p.m.We had made a Reservation for the largest Room, and it was excellent. The bath was spacious enough, and they provided shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and facial cleanser—everything we needed. The meals were very satisfying for the price; the freshly cooked white rice prepared right in front of us was so good that I ate it all and ended up uncomfortably full.Unfortunately, because it was cloudy we couldn’t fully enjoy the night view, but overall we were satisfied with the Accommodation. The next morning, when I looked outside through the window, a wild boar piglet was eating eagerly. Maybe it was digging around plant roots to find insects? At checkout, they kindly stored our luggage while we went sightseeing around Mt. Tsukuba for about four hours. When I asked whether we could use the bath afterward, I was told that staying guests can use it at half price; as others have mentioned, it wasn’t free for guests. It was nice to soak in an empty bath and wash off the sweat feeling refreshed.
