Okumatsushima LANEHOTEL

I suddenly felt like visiting Matsushima and started looking for Accommodation, but everywhere was pricey. The more affordable places had reviews that were, well, what you’d expect… Since my stay was short, I thought I didn’t need to do much sightseeing—then I found this place. A “Room assigned on arrival” Plan with crab at this price? Is that really okay?I arrived feeling both excited and a bit anxious, but it exceeded my expectations by far. The staff were wonderful, and even though it’s a two-story building, there’s an elevator. When I got to my Room (by chance), it was a twin room with double beds. Spacious! Clean! Beautiful! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff’s attentive check-ins were also appreciated. I finished all the crab without thinking about anything else.I noticed a framed certificate on the wall—it wasn’t quite a standard chef’s license… Turns out they’re actually an instructor who trains chefs. No wonder everything tasted so good… In the large public bath, I ended up chatting with other guests about how great this Accommodation is.If there’s one thing I’d like to mention: The small stones laid in the reclining bath area of the large public bath have come loose, and it hurt when I stepped on them—please improve this before my next visit.

The Facility was new, thoroughly cleaned, and very beautiful. The food was excellent across the board—sashimi, simmered fish, Wagyu beef, and more—and even the Hitomebore rice was delicious; everything tasted outstanding. We walked from the station, but only found out after arriving that Shuttle Service was available. It would have been helpful to have that information in advance.
