Kuroshio Inn Rinkaiso

I wrapped up work by late morning and came to an Accommodation with an ocean view for the first time in a while. The sea is right in front of you with nothing to block the view. It’s incredibly relaxing. The Onsen is a cola-like color and not too hot, so you can soak at a leisurely pace. That said, maybe I stayed in too long—or maybe it was the Onsen’s effects—but I couldn’t stop sweating afterward. Thanks to that, the post-bath highball tasted amazing. As for the meals, there was a whole thick-cut splendid alfonsino, and the sashimi was locally sourced as well. I also ordered abalone sashimi separately and thoroughly enjoyed it—perfect with drinks. The staff were also very courteous and attentive. One small thing: with the abalone sashimi, they served liver soy sauce, but it had some kind of garnish mixed in—maybe that’s Katsuura’s style? Personally, I would have preferred to mash the liver myself, mix it with wasabi, and add soy sauce. Maybe that’s just me being picky... That said, overall I was very satisfied. I’d definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

We stayed in a seaside Deluxe 15-tatami Room with dinner included.We chose this Accommodation because we wanted to walk to Katsuura’s morning market and enjoy the Onsen, and it turned out to be the perfect choice.The Onsen is not free-flowing, but the water is pleasantly silky and leaves your skin smooth.It was also great that we could make a Reservation for a private Onsen once for free during our stay.And above all, the alfonsino (kinmedai) at dinner was huge—I honestly doubted it was really one whole fish per person.Unlike a luxury Accommodation, they give you space in a good way, so we could relax and enjoy our stay.We stayed over the weekend, and it was about 36,000 yen for two people, so I think it’s excellent value for money.We’d love to stay again.
