Enjoy the Five Methods, Five Tastes, and Five Colors of vegetarian cuisine at a tranquil Property.

Koyasan Jokiin, where the Jizodo Hall was completed in 2001, is a temple themed around "healing." The large communal bath "Jizo-yu" has been renovated, and the temple offers a shukubo (temple lodging) experience. Some special rooms do not have private baths, and the communal bath is available from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM (4:00 PM to 9:30 PM in December). Additionally, the temple's vegetarian cuisine emphasizes the seasonal essence and the esoteric Buddhist principles of "Five Methods, Five Tastes, and Five Colors," utilizing ingredients to their fullest. Guests can enjoy dishes crafted with care, featuring five types of seasoning, cooking methods, and color arrangements.

Shojin cuisine

The meals served at the Property on Mount Koya are based on "Shojin Ryori," a vegetarian cuisine designed to sustain monks during their rigorous training. These are simple dishes prepared with care using seasonal ingredients, respecting the principles of "Five Methods, Five Tastes, Five Colors," and appreciating their natural flavors. Each grain of rice embodies the efforts of many people. Each drop of water contains the blessings of heaven and earth. Let us receive them with gratitude.

Morning service

Every morning, a morning service is held in the main hall. All guests staying at Jōki-in are welcome to participate.
