Renowned for its skin-beautifying properties, the weakly alkaline natural Onsen, dinner features heartfelt original Japanese-Western Kaiseki cuisine and popular afternoon tea-style desserts, providing services that delight women. We were delighted to find plenty of welcome drinks (juice), jelly, and baked sweets waiting in the Room. The Room was clean, and the bathroom smelled wonderful throughout; of course, the hot water also left our skin feeling moisturized. Dinner was excellent in every way—presentation and taste alike. Breakfast offered a wide variety as well. If we had to mention one thing, we would have liked coffee sticks in the Room. This is an Accommodation we would love to return to.

The meals were delicious—almost too much food—but it was so good that I finished everything. I later learned that they can fold up the futon during breakfast, but I didn’t know and declined. I would have appreciated being told in advance. The staff were pleasant, and their service and manners were excellent. It was an Accommodation that made me want to come back again.

All-you-can-eat selection of 10 types of appetizers and afternoon tea-style desserts. One of the highlights of the restaurant is the live piano performance. The appetizers are a colorful assortment inspired by Japanese Hassun, Spanish Pinchos, and Italian Antipasto Misto. Beautifully presented on ceramic, glass, and a mix of Japanese and Western tableware, they invite you into a world of culinary delight. In a serene setting, enjoy Shogetsu's original appetizers, soup, sashimi, fried dishes, simmered dishes, Western plates, main courses, and desserts at your leisure. In addition to the course meals, à la carte options and alcoholic beverages are also available.
The natural Onsen 'Beauty Skin Water' is captivating. The spa is also well-equipped.
Immerse yourself in the ambiance of a Japanese garden while enjoying the skin-friendly "Onsen of Beauty." The large communal baths "Kiraku no Yu" and "Biraku no Yu" feature indoor baths with panoramic views of Hakone's changing seasons and outdoor baths set within a charming Japanese garden. Additionally, "Biraku no Yu" offers an outdoor jacuzzi. The water is colorless, transparent, and a mildly alkaline simple spring, gentle on the skin. Enshrined beside the entrance of the Property is the Tensho Inari Daimyojin (or Shoichii Inari-sama), which holds the same highest rank as Fushimi Inari Taisha, the head shrine of Inari deities. Since the Muromachi period, it has been affectionately known as "Tsubakimori Oinari-sama" in the area of Oiso-juku along the Tokaido Fifty-Three Stations. In 1953, it was relocated to the predecessor of the current Property, Shinshogetsu. The white female fox deity is reputed to bring blessings for matchmaking and romantic success, with many guests sharing stories of finding good relationships. At the Property's front desk, heart-shaped ema (800 yen) and protective charms (1,000 yen) are also available.
