Nikko Green Hotel Nostalgic Kazari Fuwari

I booked after availability opened up about a week before Golden Week and again right before my stay. The kettle was already filled with hot water, which felt like a thoughtful touch and made a great impression. The staff, almost like concierges, provided attentive service with just the right amount of distance, and I was very satisfied. At meals, the staff were not native Japanese speakers, but their Japanese and hospitality were excellent, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Because I work with people like this professionally, I appreciated it even more—and staying at a place that employs such capable staff made me even more satisfied. I would love to stay again and would recommend it to others.

All the staff were very pleasant and provided great service. They asked about our sightseeing plans and gave us helpful advice on the best times to visit. We were able to enjoy both breakfast and dinner in a private dining room at a relaxed pace. The seasonal dishes and yuba were delicious! Dinner rice is served in an ohitsu, but it was more than we could finish, which felt wasteful, so I wish there had been an easy way to request a smaller portion somewhere (I often feel this at other Accommodations as well). Since the Hotel is located partway up a hill, those who are older or carrying a lot of luggage should be careful if walking there. The Onsen warmed us up wonderfully. There was a pot of hot water in the Room, but I would have been happy if drinking water had also been available somewhere. Overall, it was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Thank you for taking care of us, and I’d love to visit again someday.
