At the foot of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, enjoy fresh seafood, Onsen, and Taisho-era romance.

  • I had heard this Ryokan was known for its delicious meals, and I was really looking forward to it—and the food absolutely lived up to my expectations. The asparagus tofu and steamed white rice were especially wonderful; even though I was already full, I couldn’t help but ask for another serving. When I asked for water while enjoying sake, the attendant kindly brought a whole pitcher, which I truly appreciated. It must have been heavy—thank you very much. Their thoughtful hospitality also stood out in other ways, such as preparing both tea and water not only during the meal but again before bedtime. At one point we had to Cancel the Reservation for the private family bath because our timing didn’t work out, but when we were heading out, a staff member let us know that a slot had opened up and asked if we’d like it. Thanks to that, we were able to use it after all, which made me very happy. The onsen manju provided in our Room surprised me with how delicious it was when I tried it after returning home. I slightly regret not buying some as souvenirs. The only small concern was that one older male staff member came across as a bit brusque at times, but overall it was a wonderful Ryokan where we could relax comfortably. I would definitely like to stay again.
