The Shinkan Onsen Hotel offers a serene retreat for the mind and body, overlooking lush greenery, the sea, the sky, and the townscape of Shinkan from a gentle hill. Guests can enjoy alternating Japanese and Western-style baths daily and savor menus featuring local seafood and mountain delicacies.
I used to visit the Onsen for day trips every year, but this was my first time staying overnight (2 nights). The spaces outside the Room were well equipped, and I felt very comfortable throughout my stay. Between the Onsen, complimentary alcohol and snacks, and manga, two days wasn’t enough time—I barely had time just to sleep in the Room.I think this is the No. 1 Accommodation as a base for horse-related activities.
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 8/12/2026The Facility may be a bit old, but it is kept very clean. Its wide, two-story layout felt very Hokkaido-like. The Room was also spacious and relaxing. The bath water was pleasantly silky, and on a clear day you can enjoy a wonderful location with ocean views. Curry and alcohol were free for guests as well—an excellent service overall. Unlike Furano, which feels about half international visitors, Hidaka was not crowded with foreign tourists and had a calm atmosphere. There’s no discrimination at all, but when it’s too packed with people it can be tiring, so the lack of crowds is a big plus for me.
