An Accommodation where you can enjoy Yobuko’s specialty, fresh live squid sashimi. Featuring a panoramic bath overlooking the Genkai Sea and renovated guest rooms for a comfortable stay.

Kanko Hotel Daimonkaku is an accommodation where you can enjoy the freshest seafood from Genkai-nada, with "Yobuko's Live Squid Sashimi" as its main attraction. The live squid, known for its high transparency and crunchy texture, is a specialty of Yobuko that attracts visitors from across the whole country. In addition to squid, we offer seasonal seafood such as sea bream, abalone, sea urchin, and turban shell in carefully prepared kaiseki cuisine by our head chef. From the separate men’s and women’s panoramic large baths, you can enjoy views of Nago Bay and Yobuko Bridge. At night, the quiet fishing lights create a serene atmosphere, while in the morning you can witness the sunrise over the horizon. An open-air bath is also available for a more relaxing experience. Our rooms include four types: Japanese-style rooms and Japanese-Western style rooms featuring "Japanese-style room with beds" and "Deluxe Rooms," which were renovated in 2023. All rooms are equipped with air purifiers, toilets with bidet functions (washlets), Wi-Fi access, and accommodate between 2 to 6 guests comfortably. We look forward to welcoming you with fresh seafood delicacies, breathtaking views, and heartfelt hospitality.

  • We found this Accommodation while searching for a Ryokan for our summer family trip because we really wanted to try Yobuko squid. The Room had been renovated, so it was very clean and spacious, and our children were delighted. There was a small issue with the meal at first, but the staff responded immediately and it was resolved without any problem. That said, the amount of sashimi was incredible! We were worried we might not be able to finish it—the whole flounder sashimi platter and one plate of squid sashimi per person were extremely satisfying. Breakfast was also delicious: a Japanese set meal in just the right portion size. As for the bath, we knew from other Reviews that it is not an Onsen, but the water felt so pleasant that you wouldn’t notice unless told. The bath size was also just right since it wasn’t crowded. One disappointing point was that some weeds on the property were visible from the large window in our Room. Overall, though, we were very satisfied with this Accommodation, and would definitely like to stay again if we have another chance to visit.

  • We stayed here for a commemorative trip and a Yobuko visit at my parents’ request. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meals, the scenic 전망 bath, the comfortable Room, and the lounge beautifully decorated with ikebana.Since we were traveling with elderly parents, you supported us in many ways even before we finalized our booking, which allowed us to visit with peace of mind. (The surprise was also a lovely touch.)This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again on our next trip to Yobuko. Highly recommended!!!
