Additionally, the prestigious suite, which has hosted various renowned figures, offers a special space complete with a private Onsen bath and a sofa room. The Ryokan takes pride in its fresh seafood dishes, prepared with ingredients directly sourced from the sea by a chef who has been awarded the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Prize.
The Ryokan’s traditional atmosphere was wonderful, and because everything is compact and well organized, we were able to stay comfortably. Above all, the staff’s thoughtful and kind hospitality really came through, and our children liked it too.We would love to stay again if we have the chance.
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 8/14/2026About a 5-minute taxi ride from the station.I was surprised when we arrived in front of the Ryokan and saw the exterior.It has a wonderful atmosphere and a historic feel, and I wondered, “Is it really okay to stay in a place like this with children?”When I read the Room information, I learned that it is a prestigious Ryokan with over 300 years of history.I believe the entire building has been renovated.It was very clean.The meals were very generous, and we could barely finish everything.Crab, bouillabaisse, sashimi, and more.Everything was delicious.Breakfast came with various small side dishes, and we could get refills of rice as well—it was tasty and enjoyable.The Onsen was a bit hot—around 43°C by feel.Our child found it too hot to soak in the bath.All of the staff were polite and kind to our children, so we felt comfortable staying there.If we visit Fukushima again, we would definitely like to stay here again.

This is one of the treasures we have carefully nurtured over the years, along with the history of our Property as a "Hatago" (traditional inn). The name of our Property, "Shouhaku," refers to auspicious evergreen coniferous trees, and in the garden stands a majestic Himuro cedar tree that is well over 100 years old. During your stay, we invite you to step into the garden and enjoy the seasonal breeze. Additionally, guests staying in the first-floor rooms can access the garden directly, offering a sense of having your own private garden.
The entrance of Shouhakukan, carrying the elegance and charm of its role as a honjin since the Edo period. Be welcomed by its 300-year history and step into an extraordinary world from here. We hope you enjoy the pure Japanese architectural beauty rarely seen in modern times.
Step into the lobby, and you will find yourself in an open and elegant space. Our Ryokan prioritizes the true essence of relaxation, so you will not find extravagant decorations inside or outside the premises. Enjoy a moment of peace and rejuvenation in a timeless atmosphere reminiscent of the "Hatago" era.
At the back of the lobby, there is a salon where you can relax freely. The historical and romantic interior, reminiscent of the Rokumeikan era, invites you into an extraordinary world and enhances your travel experience.
