Genroku Saigashuku Furutakiya, established in 1695 (Genroku 8), is a long-established Property located in the heart of Iwaki Yumoto Onsen. The interior of the Property features an Edo-era ambiance that is unexpected from its modern exterior. We strive to provide Facilities and services that cater to all needs, including barrier-free and ostomate-friendly restrooms. For guests with children, we also offer nursing rooms and kids' spaces.
I stayed here to enjoy the Onsen, and all three baths in the building were excellent. The open-air bath in the sky was especially refreshing—I could have stayed in it forever. Each of the three baths had both hot and lukewarm tubs, so I could choose what I liked. Since it was a weekday after the Obon holidays, it wasn’t crowded and I was able to truly relax. As a solo traveler, my Room was a single Room like you’d find at a Business Hotel, but that’s what I expected, so it wasn’t an issue.The Onsen Shrine just a 1-minute walk from the Hotel was also quiet and became one of my favorite spots (you can pray for safe bathing). There are footbaths inside the station, in front of the station, and around town as well—Furutakiya is an outstanding Accommodation as a base for Yumoto, an Onsen town.Although I booked a Plan without meals, I had dinner at the dining venue “Tsudaya” on the second floor. The seafood rice bowl was delicious, and their à la carte dishes also looked great.

There was a small mix-up at check-in, but the staff handled it so graciously that I truly appreciate it. From our Room, we could see the entire Onsen Shrine across the way. The hot spring water was flawless—it warmed me to the core, and my skin feels great as well. The lobby had plenty of books, and by chance we were even able to enjoy a live performance—nothing but good things. I’d love to visit again if I have the opportunity. Thank you for your hospitality.

For guests arriving by car
The sidewalk from the parking lot to the Property is narrow and has frequent vehicle traffic. Therefore, for elderly guests, those with children, individuals with disabilities, or those carrying a lot of luggage, please stop briefly in front of the entrance upon arrival. Afterward, we kindly ask you to move your vehicle to the parking lot yourself.
