  • A Hot Spring Retreat with Delicious Cuisine

    About a three-hour drive from Osaka.Just the right distance for a getaway.Both the check-in service and the Room cleaning were excellent.The interior isn’t particularly stylish, but it had a warm, homey feel.It was my first time trying the radon hot-air bath, and it made my body feel noticeably lighter.You simply enter a Room filled with low-temperature steam and lie on a bed for about 30 minutes.I was told that hot-air bath facilities containing high concentrations of radium are extremely rare!After the hot-air bath, I rinsed off in the large public bath.The water there isn’t too hot either, so you can enjoy it for a long time.I didn’t have high expectations for dinner, but everything I tried tasted delicious.I also heard that since a new head chef took over, the food has earned an even better reputation.I chose the most affordable kaiseki course; it was flavorful and reasonably filling.It was a therapeutic-style kaiseki inspired by traditional Onsen healing stays, with gentle dishes that felt good for the body.The dining staff were also polite and attentive.Misasa Onsen has a lovely town atmosphere as well, and I was able to truly relax both physically and mentally—an authentic modern take on therapeutic Onsen bathing.There aren’t many places like this; among all the Onsens I’ve visited so far, this is definitely one of my top three!I’d love to stay again.

Misasa Onsen, said to restore your vitality after three mornings, is a renowned hot spring that boasts one of the world’s leading radioactive springs. Its radon-rich waters, nurtured by nature, have long been cherished by those wishing for good health. Radon can be absorbed into the body in various ways: by soaking in the Onsen and absorbing it through the skin, by drinking it and taking it in through the digestive system, or by inhaling mist into the lungs. Among these, inhalation through the lungs is considered the most effective. At our inn, in addition to Onsen bathing and drinking the spring water, we offer a dedicated Facility that fills an indoor space with fine mist made from our own private source—one of the world’s highest radon-content springs—allowing you to inhale radon directly. Many guests seeking wellness have praised this experience for its wide range of potential benefits.

We offer four crab cuisine Plans available for a limited time only from November through March. Enjoy our luxurious full-course crab kaiseki featuring Sanin’s winter delicacy, Matsuba Crab, including the “Live Tagged Crab Kaiseki,” as well as the “Special Crab Kaiseki” made with the equivalent of two snow crabs. We also offer more reasonably priced options such as the “Mountain & Sea Kaiseki” and “Crab Sukiyaki Hot Pot.”
