Okukussharo Onsen YellowLamp Inn Mori Tsubetsu
Hokkaido/AbashiriA secluded Onsen accommodation nestled deep in the forest, surrounded by clear streams and enveloped in tranquility.
Untouched primeval forest adjacent to Akan National Park, a treasure trove of diverse wildlife. From summer to autumn, enjoy the sea of clouds, forest walks, and the scent of trees while relaxing in natural onsen outdoor baths or private family baths at this accommodation. Tsubetsu Town is a "forest-loving town," with 86% covered by forests. The pure air from the woods and the clear waters of Tsubetsu River nurture rich marine life and create a paradise for wildlife. All rooms are equipped with toilets with bidet functions, washbasins, air conditioning, and refrigerators. Screens are also installed so you can relax while feeling the breeze from the forest. Savor seasonal flavors through creative Japanese cuisine crafted by our chef using local ingredients from Tsubetsu, including delicacies from nearby mountains, rivers, and Okhotsk Sea. Our pride is our onsen featuring colorless, odorless alkaline simple hot spring water known as "beauty skin water." Its smooth texture is highly popular among guests. The open-air bath is a rustic rock bath made with natural stones. We also offer private family baths with free-flowing hot spring water for families or couples to unwind together.
The Onsen was incredibly relaxing. It felt like soaking in a moisturizing lotion, and my skin became wonderfully smooth!
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 9/3/2026Dinner and breakfast included: Seiryukan, 8-tatami Japanese-style room — JPY 32,400 for 2 adultsOne dish after another came out—items like chilled pumpkin soup and eggplant aspic that are hard to make at home—and there were quite a lot of them. Everything was delicious, and both the quality and quantity were more than sufficient. The breakfast buffet wasn’t as lavish as dinner, but there was a good variety, and I had no major complaints about the taste. The “Meditation Sauna” was excellent. It’s dark inside with piano music playing very softly, creating a great atmosphere. The temperature seems slightly lower than a typical sauna, so you can take your time and enjoy it slowly. The other “Casual Sauna” is a standard sauna with automatic löyly. Both cold baths use natural spring water and are nicely cold—ideal for sauna lovers. This stay was mainly for wild bird photography. Driving slowly from the Accommodation along the prefectural road via Tsubetsu Pass to Lake Kussharo, we spotted birds such as grey wagtails, Hokkaido rock ptarmigan, and white’s thrush from the car windows, making for an enjoyable birdwatching trip.I do wish the room rate were just a bit lower, but given recent inflation that may be unavoidable. Considering what you get for dinner, I think they’re doing an impressive job.
