Kakureyu no Sato Shingenkan
Kanagawa Prefecture/AshigarakamiA hidden hot spring associated with Lord Shingen, just 90 minutes away, offering an open-air bath where you can relax in beauty-enhancing waters while surrounded by nature.
Just a 90-minute drive from Tokyo, visit Shingen's hidden Onsen. Nestled by the clear streams of the Tanzawa mountain range, the establishment features traditional Japanese Sukiya-style architecture. The Onsen, an alkaline spring with a pH of 10, is renowned as a beauty-enhancing bath, both for its external and internal benefits. There are six bathing areas, including an open-air bath with views of the clear stream and mountain nature, offering a tranquil escape. We provide three types of private baths free of charge. Enjoy rustic countryside cuisine made with seasonal ingredients, paired with Ashigara's renowned local sake.
I had visited before for a day trip, but this was my first overnight stay, fully expecting peak Obon pricing.Since it’s an Onsen Ryokan, I assumed the guest rooms would be Japanese-style, but unlike the shared areas with samurai armor and other traditional touches, my Room was a stylish and relaxing Western-style space. I also appreciated the in-room coffee machine service.Above all, the baths were outstanding. The alkaline water left my skin feeling wonderfully smooth. There were three beautiful private baths, and after 9:00 p.m. they could be used freely without a Reservation. Perhaps because many families with children were staying, it was quiet late at night—so I tried them all. Including the large public bath, every bath was at just the right temperature; no matter how many times I soaked, I never felt overheated or unwell, and I truly enjoyed Onsen to the fullest. There are several Accommodation options in Nakagawa Onsen, but when it comes to bath management—including temperature control and cleanliness—I feel an Onsen Ryokan is still the best.We also enjoyed table tennis, and even after checkout they kindly let us use the large public bath area as a place to change after playing in the river. They were also very flexible and extremely kind regarding Shuttle Service arrangements and other requests. Thank you very much.
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 8/17/2026My partner and I stayed for one night and two days. Surrounded by rich nature and wonderful hospitality, it was a truly healing trip for both body and mind. What impressed us first was the beautiful view of the Kouchi River from our Room. Opening the window, we could hear the soothing sound of the flowing water, and just watching it made our everyday fatigue melt away. The water was so clear and pristine that we even ended up playing in the river like kids again. The Onsen we had been looking forward to had excellent water quality that left our skin silky smooth after bathing. With three private baths available, we were able to relax to our heart’s content in a private space without worrying about others. Dinner in the evening was also incredibly luxurious and delicious—an absolute blissful time. Being soothed by the sounds of nature, soaking in a renowned hot spring, and enjoying great food—this is a wonderful Accommodation I will definitely visit again to Clear my mind regularly.
