A tranquil Accommodation by Shirakoma Pond, surrounded by nature after a walk along the mountain trail
Following last year’s lunch visit, we stayed overnight this time. We chose the Plan that includes the Moss Forest guided tour. The moss observation tour offered not only explanations about moss, but also insights into the history of Shirakoma Pond and environmental conservation, which was very informative. The cape gooseberry cheesecake served at tea time after the tour was also delicious. It’s a great-value, enjoyable tour that I highly recommend.Of course, breakfast and dinner during our stay were plentiful as well.Everything was truly delicious. The new building was nothing like the image of an old mountain lodge—it was very comfortable. The bath in particular soothed our hiking fatigue, and we really appreciated it.Next time, we’d like to visit in a different season.
I stayed in a private Room. There was still snow outside, so I expected it to be fairly cold, but the Room was warm and I didn’t need to turn on the fan heater. The meals were well balanced, with plenty of salad—more than I could finish.
