At the highlands of Shinshu Tateshina, you can enjoy the sea of clouds, a star-filled sky, and the magnificent scenery of the Central Alps. Dinner is served as a kaiseki course featuring mountain and sea delicacies grilled over an irori. On clear nights, you can stargaze from the onsen. The Japanese-modern Western-style rooms, renovated in 2016, offer views of Yokoya Gorge to the left and the Central Alps to the right, allowing you to feel immersed in nature.
Dinner was delicious as well—an unusual style of half-buffet with robatayaki grilling—and the large public bath with an open-air bath was very relaxing. The staff were courteous and attentive, which we really appreciated. The Facility is a bit old, but we chose this Accommodation in Tateshina as the place to commemorate reuniting with my wife for the first time in 50 years, and we were very satisfied. Thank you very much.

We checked in a little late at 6:00 PM, but it was great that we could still enjoy the Onsen before dinner. Dinner lived up to its reputation—the robatayaki was outstanding. Breakfast was also excellent; being able to grill dried fish on a small stove was a great idea. I thought it might have been nicer if the atmosphere were a bit more lively, but when we stayed at a Hotel around Lake Shirakaba on the second day, there were far too many people, and my wife said many times that she preferred this Hotel from the first day. The only improvement I’d suggest is the washbasin area in the Room—having a unit bathroom feels tough these days. Thank you very much. We’ll be back again.
