At the highlands of Shinshu Tateshina, you can enjoy the sea of clouds, a star-filled sky, and the magnificent scenery of the Central Alps. Dinner is served as a kaiseki course featuring mountain and sea delicacies grilled over an irori. On clear nights, you can stargaze from the onsen. The Japanese-modern Western-style rooms, renovated in 2016, offer views of Yokoya Gorge to the left and the Central Alps to the right, allowing you to feel immersed in nature.
Dinner was delicious as well—an unusual style of half-buffet with robatayaki grilling—and the large public bath with an open-air bath was very relaxing. The staff were courteous and attentive, which we really appreciated. The Facility is a bit old, but we chose this Accommodation in Tateshina as the place to commemorate reuniting with my wife for the first time in 50 years, and we were very satisfied. Yahoo!トラベルユー... 7/27/2026In the refreshing early-summer season, we could see the mountains from the Hotel’s large windows and felt as if we were in another world. We enjoyed charcoal-grilled dishes while looking out at the mountains, and left completely satisfied. We had seen a Review saying the bath was far, but if you think of it as a healthy walk, it’s just right. The changing room and washing area were spacious and clean, and the Onsen was gentle on the skin—we went in many times. The open-air bath also has a wonderful atmosphere. Families looked like they were having fun in the kids’ space. There are chairs for resting here and there, so you can relax inside the Hotel. As an Onsen-loving couple in our 70s, we were very satisfied. Thank you to all the staff for speaking with us so kindly during our stay.
