Hotel White Lighthouse

This was the main destination of our trip, and we had been looking forward to it. The moment we entered the lobby, we were thrilled to be greeted by adorable cats. They weren’t trying to please people; they were relaxed and lounging all over the place, and it was immediately clear they are well cared for. I’m not sure whether the cats with a cherry blossom mark on their ears are rescued cats and those without are house cats, but they were all very friendly and let us pet them. If we could have stayed for a Multiple Night Stay, we probably would have ended up with a favorite cat—but honestly, they were all cute. On our way out, my husband couldn’t find his favorite cat and was looking everywhere; then the cat came into the lobby right as it opened, which absolutely made our day. We stayed on the third floor, and whenever we opened our door there were cats lying around in the hallway—it was so heartwarming. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and just the right amount. The route to the Hotel is a bit hard to find, but this is definitely a Hotel we’d love to stay at again. For cat lovers who want to stay with cats, it’s an irresistible place.

It is a quiet place with truly beautiful scenery. Both the town and the Hotel feel as though their peak has unfortunately passed, but they still retain a unique charm. The view from the guest room window was stunning, and the scenery from the Onsen was just as beautiful. There are many cats, which is definitely a big draw for cat lovers like me, but those with cat allergies may want to avoid staying here. In some areas, we did notice strong odors such as old carpet or something like cat waste. However, there was no such smell in our guest room, so neither I nor my friends were particularly bothered by it. Overall, it became a wonderful memory, and my wife and I would love to visit this Hotel again.
