The charm of Matsukawa-kan, established 140 years ago.

Watch the sunset sink into the high mountain valley and converse with your loved ones. At night, under the third-ranked starry sky in the world, gather around a campfire and chat. Enjoy dishes made with ingredients from Takayama Village and share unique experiences only available here with your loved ones, creating a Ryokan with the intention of "becoming closer with family, friends, and loved ones." We have created a Ryokan to ensure guests can fully enjoy the "good things" left by previous generations in the Yamada Onsen area of Takayama Village, which boasts a 250-year history.

Meal

Exclusive meals available only at Matsukawa-kan.

The full-course dinner at Umenoya Resort Matsukawa-kan features ingredients meticulously sourced from across Shinshu. Among them, the "Shinshu Premium Seven"—comprising "Shinshu Premium Beef," "Shinshu Premium Pork," "Shinshu Herb Chicken," "Shinshu Suffolk Lamb," "Shinshu Takayama Village Wild Boar Loin," "Shinshu Takayama Village Venison Loin," and "Shinshu Takayama Village Bear Meat"—are exceptional. These high-quality meats, directly procured from our hunter friends, are so prized that they are sold at ten times the local price in Tokyo's specialty game meat restaurants. Shinshu is also abundant in mushrooms, wild plants, and vegetables. Especially noteworthy is our mushroom hot pot, which features ten varieties of mushrooms. The rich broth, crafted from the essence of mushrooms and our signature dashi made from umeboshi (pickled plums), offers an unparalleled depth of flavor.
