Hirugami Onsen is a tranquil mountain Onsen village located in the southernmost part of Nagano Prefecture. Its history dates back approximately 250 years, as mentioned in ancient texts. The Onsen remained buried for a long time but was rediscovered in 1973. Although Hirugami Onsen is relatively new, its abundant water flow and proven natural healing properties make it the premier Onsen in Southern Shinshu, attracting many visitors. Renowned as a "beauty bath," the water quality of Hirugami Onsen is an alkaline simple sulfur spring. Its smooth texture is highly praised for leaving the skin silky and smooth. Our Ryokan is a modern Japanese-style accommodation located in the heart of the Hirugami Onsen village. Guests can enjoy the high-quality Onsen water in our 7th-floor panoramic bath, the finest in Hirugami Onsen, as well as the garden open-air bath on the first floor and a variety of other baths.
This was our second stay, celebrating my mother’s birthday and my father’s 77th birthday.The Onsen had a wonderfully silky feel and was excellent.The food was delicious, and we were very satisfied. We especially appreciated the staff member who took care of us during our meal—we are truly grateful.

I could really feel the chef’s kindness and sincerity in the care put into the children’s meal as well. I was also comforted by the young male staff member who joined this year, earnestly explaining each dish. If we hadn’t been told about the konjac made to resemble salmon, I think we would have been fooled—we even laughed as a family that it wouldn’t last long on a taste-ranking show.Thank you for a wonderful time.
