Suu Onsen Touji no Yado Ryuou Radon Onsen Hotel Yuutopia
Yamanashi Prefecture/KaiA therapeutic Accommodation renowned for its radon Onsen. Ranked No. 1 nationwide in the “Best Hot Spring Water” category in the Nifty Onsen Ranking 2023.
Since its opening in 1980, we have cherished and preserved the medicinal Onsen known as "The Best Radon Onsen in the East." This extraordinary hidden hot spring is located in Kai City, Yamanashi Prefecture, where you can still enjoy the radon Onsen just as it was when it first opened. While it may lack modernity and pristine aesthetics, the spring water has remained fresh and unchanged for over 40 years. Awarded second place nationwide in the Health Promotion category of the 2022 Onsen General Election. It is a genuine 100% pure flowing Onsen, said to account for only 2% of all Onsens across The whole country.
This was my first time staying here.It was about a 15-minute walk (at a relaxed pace) from JR Chuo Main Line Ryuo Station. There is a 7-Eleven along the way. There are several chain restaurants near the Accommodation. Both the Accommodation and its Facilities have a retro Showa-era feel, but the free-flowing natural hot spring water is wonderful. There are two indoor baths; in one of them, you can soak while breathing in radon and ozone. There is also a separate cold-water bath, with continuously flowing water as well. The baths are available all night, but close at 8:30 AM, so be sure to take your morning bath early. The Room toilet has a washlet bidet seat.I had a very relaxing stay. After work, I took the limited express from Tokyo Station (the 6:15 PM Kaiji bound for Ryuo) and arrived in about two hours with no transfers.I would love to stay again if I have the chance.
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 4/8/2026A worry-free Accommodation full of Showa-era charm and retro vibes There are several restaurants within a 5-minute walk, so you won’t have trouble finding somewhere to eat, and the Accommodation’s signature Onsen has silky-smooth water that keeps you warm even after your bath. Next time, I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay and really enjoy the baths.
