Known as the last onsen of Kanto, this property is located deep in the mountains, surrounded by pristine nature. To reach the property, you can either hike along a trail or use the dedicated shuttle service. The guest rooms, newly opened in 2023, feature private open-air baths, offering a secluded and intimate space. • The Room key got stuck in the locked position and could not be removed. I would appreciate it if this could be improved.I am satisfied with the meals.

  • This is my third stay at this accommodation. The autumn leaves were stunning, and the meals were creative and excellent. It felt like there had been some amazing upgrades (laughs). On the first day, all the onsen temperatures were a bit too lukewarm, making it chilly, but I thought it was part of nature's flow and still enjoyed it. However, after getting out of the onsen and returning to my room, as expected from an onsen experience, my body felt warm and cozy. On the second day, after cleaning the baths, they adjusted to a perfect temperature. I soaked in the onsen countless times and felt completely relaxed. The foreign staff members provided polite explanations with warm smiles that made me feel good. I'm also planning to stay here for New Year's Day—looking forward to enjoying an onsen with snowy scenery!

The “Last Secret Hot Spring of Kanto” nestled within the forests of Nikko National Park.

Located along the source of the Kinugawa River at an altitude of 1,400 meters, about an hour's drive west on a narrow mountain road from the center of the Kinugawa Onsen town, Haccho no Yu quietly stands amidst the lush greenery of the mountains. As it is situated within Nikko National Park, access by private vehicles is not permitted. Guests can either take a one-way hiking course of approximately 90 minutes or use one of the five daily dedicated Shuttle Service buses departing from the nearest free parking lot. In an era that values convenience and efficiency, this environment, seemingly going against the times, may be why it is celebrated as the "last hidden Onsen in the Kanto region." Take a step back from the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy a unique moment of relaxation in the pristine embrace of nature.

Waterfall Onsen (Mixed Bath)

Beloved for 100 years. This is the quintessential specialty bath.

Hatcho no Yu's private spring is a 100% natural free-flowing Onsen. The mineral-rich water, freshly emerging from the earth, has been captivating fans with its quality since the establishment in 1929 (Showa 4). Our pride, the Onsen, is a naturally gushing high-temperature spring (neutral hypotonic high-temperature spring) that is gentle on the body with minimal irritation and renowned for its smooth texture. Our baths include the two mixed-gender open-air baths, "Yukimi no Yu" and "Takimi no Yu," beloved since the opening, as well as the women-only "Takimi Rotenburo." Enjoy a luxurious day immersed in the mountain Onsen, surrounded by the ever-changing beauty of the seasons.

About Hygiene Measures
At our Property, we prioritize the safety and security of our guests above all else. We are committed to preventing the spread of COVID-19 by implementing thorough hygiene management and ensuring the following measures for maintaining safe distances within the Property. Additionally, we kindly request our guests to cooperate by using alcohol-based hand sanitizers upon arrival, undergoing temperature checks, and wearing masks. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. 1. Ensuring "Distance" in Space and Time Our Property is a small-scale accommodation with only 35 Rooms. To ensure safety, we limit the number of Rooms available for booking, capping the maximum number of guests per day at approximately 50. *Normally, we accommodate around 80 guests. The capacity of the Shuttle Service bus to Meotobuchi (25 seats) is limited to 10 passengers. In addition to the two existing dining areas, we have introduced an open-air terrace seating area. Partitions are installed between seats, ensuring a distance of at least 2 meters. We have implemented a bath token system, limiting the number of groups using the open-air and indoor baths simultaneously to three groups. 2. Reducing "Direct Contact" Our log house Rooms are designed as detached units, minimizing contact opportunities with other guests. Guests can place orders for additional dishes or beverages during meals using their smartphones. Breakfast is provided in a bento box style, allowing guests to enjoy it in their Rooms. 3. Proposing Unique Experiences in a "Remote Location" Our Property is located within the Nikko National Park's nature conservation area, a true hidden gem where general vehicles are prohibited. It is approximately 15 km away from the nearest settlement, Kawamata, ensuring an exceptionally low population density. To help you make the most of your time in this blessed natural environment, we offer seasonal activities and events within the Property. We invite you to enjoy a unique stay in the secluded region of Oku-Kinu. ■ Hygiene Management within the Property Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are placed in all Rooms, Facility entrances, and shared spaces. We regularly disinfect and sanitize door handles, handrails, faucet levers, chairs, hangers, and other frequently touched surfaces. Acrylic panels are installed at the reception desk and between the driver's seat and passenger seats in the Shuttle Service bus to prevent droplet transmission. Ventilation is enhanced with air circulators placed in guest Rooms and shared areas. ■ Measures for Guests All guests are required to undergo temperature checks before check-in. Guests with a fever of 37.6°C or higher or those feeling unwell are kindly requested to refrain from staying. We ask for your cooperation in wearing masks in shared spaces. ■ Measures for Staff Staff members wear hygiene masks at all times. Disinfectants are placed in various locations, and staff wash and sanitize their hands approximately every 30 minutes. Temperature checks and health condition monitoring are conducted before shifts. Staff with symptoms such as fever, cough, or cold are prohibited from working. With these measures in place, we strive to ensure safety and security. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation and look forward to welcoming you.
