Onsen that clings to the skin and seasonal kaiseki cuisine, relaxing while gazing at the clear stream

Enjoy the seasonal delights of Kumamoto and the soothing, silky Onsen at our accommodation, renowned for its Kaiseki cuisine featuring the best of Kyushu's seasonal ingredients. Our open lobby exudes a gentle and romantic atmosphere, and guests can enjoy roasted marshmallows at our signature irori hearth. Relax in guest rooms overlooking the Kikuchi River, where you can savor a special moment just for you.

  • I planned a relaxing 2-night, 3-day trip to Kumamoto. Since I had work the next day, I stayed in Aso on the first night and chose Yamaga—close to Fukuoka—for the second night. I had heard the Onsen was great, and I liked that the meals were a bit lighter, so I made a Reservation and stayed here—and I was very satisfied. While relaxing in my Room, we experienced a strong earthquake (around level 5). When I went to the front desk, the staff responded very kindly and helpfully. Thanks to them, I felt safe and could enjoy both the meals and the Onsen. Thank you very much. Next time, I’d like to take my time reading the manga books available on site.

  • Check-in was done via tablet, but the instructions were clear and the process went smoothly. The Onsen water quality was excellent, dinner was very filling, and the Room was clean and relaxing. However, perhaps because our breakfast time was late, some dishes had already run out, which was a bit disappointing.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Onsen

Luxuriously smooth Onsen, like a moisturizing lotion that clings to your skin.

The name "Yamaga" is said to originate from a legend where Unoshin Haruji, fleeing from Kyoto after the Hogen Rebellion, saw a deer soaking in hot water to heal its wounds during a mountain hunt. Yamaga Onsen is known for its smooth and silky waters, cherished by many as "Bijin no Yu" (Beauty Hot Spring).
