Grand Hotel Taiyo
Chiba Prefecture/Shirahama OnsenRelax with breathtaking ocean views and fresh seafood cuisine.
All rooms feature ocean-view Japanese-style accommodations with breathtaking scenery. Relax and unwind in the Onsen large public bath with an open-air bath. Enjoy fresh seafood dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, as well as a cypress wood private bath. The spacious Japanese-style rooms are perfect for individuals or families. We also offer an all-you-can-eat service, including a grand sashimi platter and desserts.
My parents, both over 80, love crab, so we visited mainly for the crab buffet. The meals were great—not only the crab, but also a wide variety of dishes, especially at breakfast. The bath was also wonderful; it was nice to soak in a hinoki bath. We requested a Japanese-style Room plus an additional 4.5-tatami area, but the 4.5-tatami space was located right by the Room entrance and wasn’t very usable, which was disappointing. In that case, a standard Japanese-style Room would have been fine. All staff were cheerful, kind, and pleasant. The baths also seemed to have been renovated or renewed, and it felt like the Hotel is making a strong effort overall, which I appreciated. This time we were able to use a coupon on Yahoo Travel and I think we probably got the best price available. When I explained that we were traveling with two elderly guests, they kindly arranged a Room with easy access to both the bath and dining area, which we truly appreciated.
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 7/18/2026The hospitality and service were excellent. We chose the all-you-can-drink Plan, but we had to wait in line for about 4–5 minutes to order draft beer. I hope that can be improved. The quality of the buffet was outstanding—fresh seafood and king crab, among other items, really impressed us. The view from the Room was also fantastic. It was disappointing that we couldn’t use the sauna in the large public bath. Overall, we were very satisfied. Thank you very much.
