Savor a peaceful mountain village stay away from everyday life, with seasonal nature, Onsen, starry skies, and regional flavors.

  • I visited Narai-juku for sightseeing and stayed at Koma-no-Yu.It is a secluded hot spring, and the surroundings are quiet. The forest bathing was soothing.Koma-no-Yu puts great care into the cuisine and offers many dishes, and everything I tried was delicious. The refined seasoning made for a highly satisfying meal.

  • Nothing was overly extravagant (I wouldn’t expect spiny lobster or bluefin tuna in the mountains), but every dish was thoughtfully prepared, and you could really taste the care taken with local ingredients. Everything was delicious, starting with the panna cotta appetizer. It was my first time trying the local specialty “Obira,” and it was excellent. The atmosphere of the Accommodation is also wonderful. It was a shame we couldn’t do the stargazing tour because of the rain. I’d love to visit again during the autumn foliage season.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Garden

A satoyama landscape that makes you want to come back on a whim

Founded in 1897, Koma-no-Yu has stood for over a century as the only Onsen accommodation along the Kiso Old Road, opened more than 800 years ago and once traveled by Yoshinaka Kiso on his journeys to and from Kyoto. Nestled in the heart of the Kiso Mountains, this serene setting offers beautiful fresh greenery and autumn foliage, mild summer temperatures, and exceptional winter snowscapes—while our private hot spring source has gently soothed travelers’ hearts and bodies since long ago.

Cuisine

Blessings from the mountains, blessings from the river—true Kiso charm and Shinshu character.

Since our founding, we have welcomed guests visiting for hot-spring therapy and mountain climbing in the Showa era, and for sightseeing as well as international travel from the Heisei through Reiwa eras, offering warm hospitality true to a mountain Accommodation. We look forward to your stay with us, along with cuisine nurtured by Kiso’s history and local climate.
