Hakone Gora Hotel Pipe no Kemuri Plus

Kanagawa Prefecture/Gora Onsen

A relaxing property that feels the breath of Gora Hakone.

"Hakone Gora Hotel Pipe no Kemuri Plus" is a property located in Hakone Gora, a tourist destination rich in nature such as the Fuji Hakone Izu National Park. Here, you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons, experience art, ride the famous Ajisai train of Hakone, and fully enjoy both culture and nature. Additionally, it offers excellent access to Owakudani and Lake Ashi, symbols of Hakone. With onsen, delicious cuisine, and comfortable rooms, it provides a relaxing time for all visitors.

  • This was our first stay. The train-view Room delighted our children. The open-air bath was also great. We had high expectations for the buffet, and it was excellent. The selection was well balanced—not too much or too little—so we could enjoy a bit of everything. While planning this one-night trip, we researched various Hotels, and choosing this Hotel close to the station was absolutely the right decision. After checkout, we went to Owakudani and Lake Ashi. Since we left at 9:00, the first cable car was nearly empty, and we had the ropeway all to ourselves as a family. They also stored our large luggage for us, so we could sightsee comfortably with light bags. For Hakone Free Pass users, I think this is one of the best Hotels. One small suggestion: after the kids fell asleep, it would have been nice to have a small table lamp to make the Room a bit brighter. It turned into a very enjoyable trip. We would love to stay again.

  • We stayed here at the beginning of the Obon holiday during summer vacation. It’s close to the station and very convenient—recommended whether you’re traveling by car or train. For visiting Hakone-Yumoto Station or Owakudani, I think it’s best to use this place as a base and get around by public transportation. Parking near stations is expensive, and the parking lot at Owakudani gets extremely congested, which is a waste of time. It felt like there were many families staying here. The building is old overall, but there were no particular issues. If I had to mention something, the toilet/bath unit was small and dated. Also, the toothbrush was very soft and flimsy. Meals are served buffet-style with assigned time slots. It didn’t feel overly crowded; it was about what I expected. The food quality was average or better. For those who drink alcohol, there’s no problem at all—I was impressed by the draft beer dispenser that pours from below. The bath is a bit small, but the temperature was just right, and the shower pressure was strong. From the open-air bath, I could faintly see a train passing in front through the trees and plants. There was also a stick insect in the open-air bath—I saw one for the first time ever. I’d like to stay here again.
