Kamenoi Hotel Aomori Makado

Aomori Prefecture/Kamikita

A soothing getaway in a tranquil forest, featuring comforting dishes made with local ingredients

Kamenoi Hotel Aomori Makado is nestled in a quiet, tranquil forest about a 1-hour drive from Aomori City, the prefectural capital. From Aomori City, you can take the Aoimori Railway via Hachinohe to Sannohe Town for a leisurely trip around the prefecture, and the Sannai-Maruyama Site—part of the UNESCO World Heritage “Jomon Prehistoric Sites in Northern Japan”—is also about a 1-hour drive away. For dining, we offer dishes featuring a variety of Aomori seafood and locally sourced ingredients.

  • We stayed here to celebrate a birthday trip. We truly appreciated the thoughtful touches, including messages, and felt the attentive care throughout. The meals and Onsen were wonderful, and we were very satisfied. The staff welcomed us warmly with smiles, which was soothing both physically and mentally. We would love to stay again.

  • The service and the meals were excellent. However, there were a lot of leaves and insects in the open-air bath, so I would like it to be skimmed regularly, and since I used the sauna, I wished there had been a cold plunge pool.

[Main Measures Implemented at the Hotel]

Conveniently located as a stopover between Aomori City and the Shimokita Peninsula, this Hotel offers excellent access.

Long ago, a crane is said to have soaked its legs here to heal its wounds—this legend is the origin of the name “Tsuru-no-Yu.” Another tale tells that Minamoto no Yoshitsune once stopped by as well.
