Notice of the Introduction of Okinawa Prefecture Accommodation Tax (Effective for stays from February 1, 2027)
Okinawa Prefecture will introduce an Accommodation Tax for stays from Monday, February 1, 2027. Thank you for your understanding.
■ From February 1, 2027 onward
Applicable amount: 2% of the Accommodation Fee (excluding tax) per person per night
Maximum: JPY 2,000 per person per night
* Even if you have already paid your Accommodation Fee in advance (e.g., by prepaying with a credit card), payment of the Accommodation Tax is required separately.
* For online Reservations, please note that the Accommodation Fee shown on the screen includes consumption tax but does not include the Accommodation Tax.
* Even if your Reservation was made on or before January 31, 2027, the Accommodation Tax will apply to stays from February 1, 2027 onward.
* The Accommodation Tax may be exempted for certain cases that meet specific conditions—such as educational or research activities including school trips, and certain community club activities associated with regional expansion of junior high school club activities—by submitting a certificate to the Accommodation.
* If tax regulations are revised after you Complete the Reservation, we will adjust the billed amount according to the new tax rules applicable on your stay date. Thank you for your understanding.
