Shukubo Kawasemi no Sho ~The Kingfisher Resort~
Oita Prefecture/Bungo Takeda Station - 25 minutes by carLocal cuisine and high-concentration carbonated hot springs, a resort stay in a poetic space overlooking the Kuju mountain range.
A poetic space of 30,000 tsubo overlooking the lake and the Kuju mountain range. Each Room, crafted by seven master carpenters, is a standalone retreat, with guest Rooms bearing unique names and exuding distinct charm, enveloped in their own worldviews. The hot spring water is 100% natural high-concentration carbonated spring, flowing directly from the source, with a deliberately intimate bathhouse for a serene experience. You can feel the subtle energy of nature as the hot spring flowers float gently and bubbles cling to your body. Meals are prepared with a focus on local production for local consumption, featuring vegetables and herbs from our own garden. Enjoy seasonal appetizers that change monthly, our secret homemade ham, and the rare Enoha tea rice. Located about 1.5 hours by car from Oita Airport, spend an unforgettable time at the foot of the Kuju mountain range.
First of all, the meals were outstanding. I’ve had enohara fish before, but this was the most delicious I’ve ever tasted! They paid close attention to how we were doing during the meal, and the timing of each next dish was perfect.Everyone on the staff greeted us with smiles throughout our stay, which made us feel very comfortable. Thank you very much. We’d love to visit again in a different season.
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 7/28/2026I stayed at this Accommodation the other day.In a quiet setting where the only sounds were birdsong and the gentle flow of Onsen water, I was able to forget the bustle of everyday life and truly relax. The Room was exceptionally comfortable, and the private open-air bath was outstanding—I soaked in it again and again, savoring a wonderfully luxurious time. The meals were also excellent; the enoha sashimi and crispy bone crackers were especially delicious. Breakfast impressed me as well, with its carefully prepared variety of dishes. The interior design and atmosphere throughout the property were superb—everywhere you look feels picture-perfect. Above all, what left the strongest impression was the service from all staff members. Their kindness and attentive care—never intrusive—soothed me many times during my stay.Onsen, nature, cuisine, space, and hospitality—all of these elements were beautifully balanced at a high level. It was a truly wonderful Accommodation, and I will definitely return.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Since its opening in 1992, the thatched-roof main building has maintained its fire for 25 years of history. To preserve that 'way of life,' we have imbued it with further strength and passion. On September 23, 2017, 'Property Hisui no Sho ~ The Kingfisher resort ~' celebrated its grand reopening after renovation. Step through the charming main gate into an extraordinary space...

The main building, with its nostalgic thatched roof, exudes a timeless charm. Constructed by master carpenter Mr. Nakao using traditional techniques without a single nail, it features five beams made from single 17-meter pine trees. The spacious and serene lobby is designed to provide a relaxing atmosphere, combining the functions of a front desk and lounge. It also includes a café room and occasionally hosts art exhibitions. Additionally, there is a souvenir corner located next to the front desk. The lounge space offers a tranquil environment where guests can unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, enjoying their time at their own pace.

Connecting Corridor ~ Star Observation Tower ~
Corridors connecting the pavilions, leading you further and further inward. Our establishment is entirely designed with detached accommodations, and each Facility is connected by a 300-meter-long corridor. As you walk along this corridor, your heart will be filled with excitement, allowing you to experience an extraordinary moment. Midway through the corridor, you'll find the "Hoshimi Yagura" (Star Viewing Tower). This is the only place where you can view the illuminated thatched roof from above. You can gaze upon a star-filled sky and the vast 30-acre grounds. On clear nights, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the starry sky.
