    Perched on a hill in Katsuura, and with our Room on a high floor, we were thrilled by the Katsuura views from the balcony. The terracotta-toned living area also had a kitchen, refrigerator, and microwave, so we could relax in the Room at night with takeout side dishes we brought in. The sink area and toilet were both spacious and very convenient to use, and the bed was at a comfortable height so we slept soundly. The Onsen was free-flowing, with just the right temperature. The water felt silky and left our skin smooth; after soaking morning and night, my hip joints even felt more flexible. With breakfast included and a pool on site, it was an excellent value even during the busy summer season—overall a very satisfying trip. Just one thing: the toilet near the pool had a strong odor, which was bothersome.

  • This Hotel offers an exceptional Onsen and an outstanding location.

    Set on a hill, the views from the Room are outstanding.The Room is spacious, and the refrigerator is larger than in a typical Hotel; there is also a microwave and cooking utensils, so you can buy what you like and relax in your Room.The Onsen is on the small side and has only a few washing stations,but the water quality is excellent—I could feel my skin become moisturized almost immediately after soaking.The temperature was just right, it warmed me through, and even eased my joint pain, so next time I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay.

Katsuura Onsen “Sotobo no Yu”

The 1st-floor “Sotobo no Yu” is a free-flowing bath. The Onsen water is light brown and contains sodium chloride and bicarbonate, and is said to be effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, bruises, and sprains. This renowned hot spring has been known as a local retreat since the Keicho era (1596–1614). A jacuzzi and sauna are also available—please relax and enjoy your time. Onsen Bath Hours 15:30–23:00, 7:00–9:30 Jacuzzi & Sauna Hours 15:30–22:00 Hours may change during Golden Week, summer vacation, year-end/New Year holidays, and long weekends. Please contact the Hotel directly. The entrance to the Onsen bath area is controlled by a tag key system; details will be provided at check-in.
